Steammodded is still the main one, you need to use the beta/newest version though

When I press ctrl + A, it instantly rerolls the level, but spouts an error in the console. I don't think it's actually searching.
Okay, so I'm SUPER new to modding, how do I make sure lovely is working properly? I've set it up using method 3a, set up DeckSkinsLite, and I can see the command prompt trying to run Lovely when I boot up Balatro, but I don't see anything like a "mods" tab or the like

Yes! It's just the skin that didn't load.
for one thing, delete the zipped file, you just need the extracted folder
two, you also need lovely

Also is there any way of making the card backs black instead of white? The deck art I intend to try out is white on black (let me know if I should move to #💻・modding-dev )
it's super simple. since it's just a png file, send that over to a friend and they can delete the original and slap it in the archive
as far as actually changing the art on the back of the deck, that's definitely a more advanced question
the folks in #💻・modding-dev would probably be able to help you out

I'm at the point in cryptid where the game drops down to 2 fps every time I score and stays like that until I reset the game
why do I have to restart the game every time?
I guess e20000 is too much
it could definitely go way higher
but my game just can't handle it
it's definitely throttling of the engine or something, because my isn't stressed at all
try going for low reps with high mult rather than a million reps and only a 1.5 being repeated. the less calculations made the better and faster. although the game does have some hard limits

Does anyone know of a way to get Unstable to work with Cryptid and Balatro+? The version of Steammodded that's required for Unstable seems to cause issues with Cryptid and Balatro+, as it started crashing once I added Unstable and switched smod versions. The smod version that works for Cryptid and Balatro+ doesn't work for Unstable.

Honestly I haven't played cryptid yet (updating my OS rn to install injector) but from what I've seen it seems to follow the inscryption act I trope.
Basically, the game allows to be exploited, which suddenly makes you, the player, limit yourself after being bored with breaking the game.
i guess there's just too much going on for me, i'm still getting used to the base game in a way (gold staked checker deck earlier today) and haven't even unlocked every card yet, so adding nearly double the base game's content on top of that is a LOT

I'm just curious if anyone knows how to have the cards "ding" when they're scored? Playing with Cryptid and it seems to get turned off as a result :D
you need to go into one of the mods settings (i dont remember whitch one) and there should be "reduce animation when scoring" or "remove animation when scoring" (something like that)
when its activated it removes the ding so just disable it
althou i recommend having it when having a REALLY broken run in cryptid as it shortens the calculation time

You don't need to compile lovely for linux unless you manually went out of your way to make balatro a native program

he uses his own version of love2d that uses non gc64 luajit
so he has to compile it himself

yes, your steamodded is too old for the version of bunco you're using
It said on Github to download an older version because there's conflict with other mods
bunco is updated for the new version

If you are using steammodded, that could cause issues.
Youll have to install an older version of SteamModded as well as another mod called Talisman, but both of their links are on the Cryptid page

What I mean is, if possible, building for windows probably shouldn't depend on windows being the current OS.
it's required because it forwards exported functions in version.dll to make dynamic load-time dll injection function
It needs a copy of it to get symbols when building but at runtime it justg forwards to the real version.dll so it doesn't copy anything. To be fair I belive you were building the windows build for a linux target which is super cursed

yeah there's a rust to c compiler backend in the works

probably there's a mod that needs new calc but you're using it on old calc
try removing some mods to find which ones the culprit
but wouldn't that fuck up the whole thing even more like it won't let me continue or ?
