man the lock spectral card from cryptid is great for getting rid of annoying stickers like pinned, perishable, eternal or rental.
I found an op combo earlier, I had used reverse card with more than enough joker slots to get all 100 jolly jokers, then I found loop, and thus i got like 70 retriggers on all jokers, which spawned more jolly jokers from something.

somehow I've had like 1 crash in a couple days of playing.
I know to avoid certain card combos that have crashed me before, but other than that I seem to be unusually fortunate in avoiding crashes.
i fixed my crashes installing the Steammodded that came with Cryptid zip
well I got a tag that usually makes it crash but so far so good
yeah the one from that seems to have kept everything stable for me
my laptop is pretty beefy too, so thats helped as well probably

yeah the bounce is pretty laggy, especially with higher run speed active from a mod.
couldve made it so that you have to score exactly 4 cards
turned it from x2 to x4 blind
and it's actually hard by ante 7

it would help to send the crash screen, but sending your crash log, which is in %appdata%\roaming\balatro\mods\lovely\logs would probably help more.

Cryptid will probably update to the new calc soon, but apparently there's been a major update to much of the code, so they have been too busy with that to do new calc

trying to set this same thing up, i've got smods-main and smods-old-calc ... just to confirm the entire folder is meant to be added to the \Balatro\Mods folder (not the game directory), and it sits alongside the \Talisman and \Cryptid folders? Also should the folder remain named 'smods-old-calc', or should it just be 'smods'?
i've followed all the steps and the terminal outputs: INFO - [♥] Using mod directory at "[...]/Balatro/Mods" (with the full path) and the game loads, just with no mods button in the menu

Why are there two sizes for textures in Balatro Files?
For 1X and 2X
The 2x textures are used when pixel smoothing is turned on
Random Idea Day 1
A Spectral Card that grants 2x the effect to a random Joker you own, but you disable all other Jokers you currently own (to compensate for the possible Eternal tag).
IE: If Triboulet gives 2x mult to every King or Queen played, it would give 4x mult instead. If it's a Joker that gives money, it would double the money given to you. Retrigger cards would also retrigger twice as much.

that challenge had a random value set based on something related to folders idk
and that value
determined what string you’d get at the end of the challenge run - shown in the victory text on top

there's steam link, but that doesn't mod the mobile version, it uses your phone to play the pc version (streamed from your computer)

The grim Mod seems to disable jokers that work with specific suits or face cards. Like Sock and Buskin, is there a way to get around that?
you could do with some QoL mods like galdur, Incantation, Cartomancer and the like. for codex make sure to use elbe's fork and not the original repo
why what are the difrences
Codex was made for an older version of steamodded and is incompatible with more recent mods as a result
the fork isn't a full port but makes it work with latest smods and other mods again

I figured it was some cryptid + smods incompatibility. If you're not crashing with the bundled smods then you should probs just use that

it is off by default, does it mean that i would not get any steam achievements if it is off?

this might be because of saturn. disable it and see if your game continues to crash

i had a similar problem recently, it looks like it's a compatibility issue between steamodded v1133 and saturn's current build. i don't run many mods so just removing steamodded was fine for me but ymmv

What’s your mod list?
If you remember which profile you were using, going to where your Mods folder is, there should be also the numerical folders for the given profile. Delete the folder (if you played on Profile 3, "3" should be the folder to delete) and restart.
at this point, nothing is in the mod list. I removed them all aside from the latest smod version jus to try and get it working without mods

Mods aren't installed into the game folder, they're installed into %AppData%/Balatro/Mods
@umbral pilot for some reason my windows defender reset settings by itself and was messing with the lovely injector so trying to update it was messing it up

would anyone know the formula at which trigger speed increases the longer a hand is taking to score? I'm interested in making a concept of a card that activates at a specific number of triggers, with the intention of basing it on the pitch of the trigger effect
all non-visual calculation is done before the visual scoring

You can just make it count triggers
state_events.lua:607-608:

percent is increased by percent_delta whenever a joker evaluation is considered to be "completed"
you can either look at all of these yourself and track them or patch percent = percent + percent_delta" and "percent = percent+percent_delta (with regex ideally, or do two pattern patches) to just call some function you create with percent afterwards
that percent controls pitch
card_eval_status_text arg 4 is that percent
play_sound is called with 0.8 + percent * 0.2 as the percent argument
(which then just becomes pitch)

You can check if they have been updated in the last ~2 weeks, if not, they might not be compatible with new-calc (most recent steamodded version)
