There's a more comprehensive mod loader in the works but for now just finding mods from this server is the best way to do it
most mods have a github page where you can download them and put them in your mods folder
Also make sure to download lovely and steamodded so that mods work

steammodded has some iffy rng changes, so not exactly, but content wise yes
your antivirus will pick it up as malware, even though it isn't. it's just the way it works is identical to how some malware works.
you need to make an exception in your antivirus for the folder you're putting the lovely dll in

RNG changes should all be fixed in latest iirc
lovely doesn't turn off steam api (the [api loaded no] is a base game log). steamodded disables achievements by default but you can re-enable in settings
if you think about it, reverie counts as a spectral pack mod......

antivirus flaggers just really hate it for behaving like a Trojan, it's weird. It does exactly what it claims to do though, nothing malicious. Not sure why exactly adware flags, I can guarantee you that it doesn't come with any ads

it doesn't forcibly unlock them, but from what I recall transitioning a file from having Talisman to not has issues?

that's what I'm saying, you might not be able to go back to vanilla with your current save file, if you've booted into it with Talisman (and the reason I talk about Talisman is because that's the "problem" mod in this interaction, and Cryptid depends upon it)

- Why do you have the mods on, then?: Prevent all Modded Jokers from showing up.
- P01NT3R HAX0R: After each Boss Blind, create a selected Joker from the collection. Max of Legendary rarity. Get 2 choices after each Showdown Boss.
- Stack-Up: A selected Enhancement can count as another. Cannot choose Wild and Stone with each other.
- Omnicard: All Enhancements apply on each card (minus Stone, cuz duh).
(And then the same for Seals and Editions.) - Spectral Madness: Spectral Cards no longer apply their downsides.

It suffers from being a really early mod from a time where there was no API for jokers and you had to patch everything yourself. As a result, mods from that time are highly incompatible with everything else

the dev opted not to, that's the short answer. Long answer is that it wouldn't even make sense for this community at the point we're at now, we're completely reliant on Lovely which would never gain official recognition
not the mobile app, but you can use steam link to play the pc version on your phone, including whatever mods you installed
btw it's not a matter of "we have a way to do this but can't discuss it here", it's not allowed but we also just don't have a way to run mods on mobile the same way we do on PC/steam

Are you trying to make a mod? If so, #💻・modding-dev is a better choice
balatro in the dependencies list is an odd decision, but if that was the problem your mod would still appear, just claim to be missing a dependency

figure out what you want your cards to do, break it down into parts, think of existing cards that use the same parts, see what they did

Pressing "h" makes the foreground elements dissapear and I was having trouble finding anything relating to that in the mods files
that's technically from vanilla's debug features
though since it is the mod enabling those, go look for words that look something like "debug mode = true" and delete them

I may tap into modding later today, how versatile is it? Is it possible to create custom mechanics and synergies?
For example, I got an idea for a card modifier or however it's called that allows you to play two cards as one (essentially letting you play 6 cards or more in one hand), is that possible?

i just recently started playing modded balatro, and have little to no idea how to effectively debug it, i started yesterday (a little before my computer died) and got all the APIs including steammodded, and got a few mods, but all of them so far have crashed.

Is SMODS.Enhancement not that widely used? The documentation's still a WIP and I can't find it in more well known mods, like Cryptid and Ortalab
both cryptid and ortalab have enhancements
keep in mind cryptid has a unique system for organizing its objects, so searching for SMODS.Enhancement will get you nothing there, but you'll find them searching for just Enhancement

the bad game handles suits (and ranks) in a really messed up and incompatible way
if you need it for changing a card's rank or suit, you should use SMODS.change_base
.....Is that AI?

i mean if you just need the suit as-is, use card.base.suit directly
yeah, with the thing I've got I'm keeping the suit, but adjusting the rank
you don't need the suit for SMODS.change_base then
at least my code's so centralized I only need to change it in one place, rather than for 26 consumables individually

Do I put the mods inside of the mod folder itself, or do I go one layer further and put them in the steammodder folder inside of the mod folder?
