yeah my game crashed a few times today
mainly bc i tried to trigger like something as waluigi a 100 times

just finished modding balatro for the first time and i'm noticing the planet cards aren't being retextured, no matter what mod I use despite the tarot cards and everything being retexutred. anyone else know of this issue or have any clue what's causing it? as far as i can tell this is only steamodded mods, lovely mods are unaffected

You put everything in the Mods folder, beside where the Steamodded folder is.
That seams to be a 0.9.8 insall, though, reinitizalize through steam if you used the PS injector, and follow this guide.

Verify files and delete version.dll, it seems like windows took your lovely.dll which is the lovely injecotr, and you might be on a 0.9.8 install because I believe steamodded 1.0.0 has a different falesafe for this.
I'm pretty sure bypass restrictions allows achievements during seeded runs, and I think challenges can't get achievements during the runs unless you have bypass restrictions.
This is due to some of the consumable code, I believe, and it also depends on whatever mod you're installing, some might simply be outdated.
Either look at #1300851004186820690 or if you're making your own mod and want to figure out how to do it without a dependency, move over to #💻・modding-dev .

It looks like windows already took the version.dll, which is probably why it was crashing in the first place, are you still running into the crash?

If you did it on your main profile, I believe there was an issue where talisman modified saves to the point where it couldn't be read by base-game balatro anymore.

Go to %appdate%/roaming/balatro, backup whatever numbered folders you have by sending it to a .zip, and then delete what's there, and if it lets you load in, then yeah, it's probably bricked, and you'd have to use a save-editor to get your vanilla save back into shape.

No, don't think it ever worked like that, lovely injector should've been the only addition to your game directory, If you're on windows, press the Win+R keys, then type in %appdata% and hit enter, then navigate to roaming/Balatro.
Yeah, go up a directory, and then do the backup and delete thing, and see if you can load in.
Should be ale to right-click, then Send To >zipped folder.

Delete it all, and don't uncompress, the aim is to make Balatro create a new save instead of reloading the old ones to see if it is indeed the fact the save is broken.
But, you could probably get your save back by following what Math suggested in the Cryptid thread, he's the one that made the mod and Talisman as well, so he'd know the systems best.

That's from the lovely injector, if everything else is solved, you should be able to remove the version.dll and it'll return to an unmodded state.

You can get achievements in modded too if you wanted to, it's an option in the steamodded config, and no worries.

version.dll goes in your game folder, you'll know it's the right place because it'll have Balatro.exe
You have the opposite problem - you've installed mods into your game folder where they should instead be in %AppData%/Balatro/Mods

halved my FPS so i just used all of them one by one

Yeah, all you need to do is just download from steamodded's source again, delete what's in your mods folder, then reinstall from the new zip to update.

Well the game runs in lua so lots of small calculations are very slow

Hello hello everybody! Sorry for the (most likely!) very boring and often-asked question; I'm just trying to do the simplest thing, which is to install the steammodded injector / mod support.
I followed all the steps on the GitHub, pre-installing Lovely's "version.dll" file, then copying over the Steammoded-main foler from the source code .zip file.. but when I launch Balatro it just doesn't show the Mod menu whatsoever. 😦
I'd figured doing step 1 was going to be simple, but I must be missing something. 😅
I did the following;
- Install Balatro.
- Download Lovely's "version.dll" file, and ensure the Balatro install folder is an exception for MS Defender before dropping it in.
- Download Steamopollys' Steamodded and follow the instruction on it's wiki ( here ) to install it.
That's where I'm at.. and launching Balatro launches it normally with zero "Mods" folder. 😅
Feel free to @ me with some help whenever, headed off for now I've done these 3 steps quite a couple times and I can't figure out for the life of me what goes wrong.. it all seems to be working okay.. even pops up this page (screenshot below) but as you can see, no mods menu on the right of Collection...
I wonder if it's just.. broken, because the Steamodded wiki does have this worrying "Click here to download the latest source code. (No up-to-date releases exist as of now. This guide will be updated when they do.)" which leads me to believe that there currently isn't an up to date release to download, so the mod support everything is based off of is just broken right now?? 🤔

It's because we're still in Steamodded alpha, where we download from source, which is the green code button on the main page, rather than the releases section over on the right - it gets updated way too frequently to maintain the updates on the right.

Talisman lets you skip scoring animation, Nopeus has a bunch of options that speed up things like using planets and such, and very high game speed settings.
i moved luigi to the blueprints and it's still taking forever 🫠

Literally, the single word that I skipped over was the "save" in "navigate to Balatro's save directory" and my eyes glazed over the actual path, thinking "yeayea I'm in the install path already, paste, go, next". 🤦♀️

No idea, Cryptid as a mod for me is, try once as a one-time powertrip, and never touch again, I only really know troubleshooting because of how common people have issues with it.

It'll probably remain as it's own separate thing for the foreseeable future, due to the nature of how lovely injector works, and the fact it flags anti-virus all the time, a certificate for it so that it shows as trusted would run a few hundred dollars to purchase, unfortunately.
Still, there might be an easier to install release version once we're out of alpha, someday. Maybe.
i did some message searching on workshop support, apparently this isn't a thing that localthunk does which is really unfortunate

Looking for some bug assistance. Been enjoying the cryptid mod but now cant seem to uninstall it properly. The config will generate for it even with no mod files installed. Really the only issue this is causing is it with some texture packs. Any info or help would be appreciated.
speaking of though, i assume the only way to get jen's almanac is through the cryptid discord? i can't find it anywhere and it's not present in the github page anymore
Some general content packs have some challenges like Extra Credit, I believe, but I don't know any that specifically have only challenges. Just look around descriptions, some should mention them.
Jen is known for making his mods a hassle to work with, yeah.

I copy-pasted the launch options of winblahblahblahversion=n.bblahblahblah.
I started it, prompt came up, thought I was good... lovely 0.6.0 right at the top.
mods folder isn't creacted, I get confused.
create "Mods" folder, extracted the .zip containing Cryptid Steammodded and Talisman
start game up again.
nothing, still base game but prompt always comes up saying lovely 0.6.0

I can't with that amount of info, but some common pitfalls are Talisman's folder name (unlike other mods, it requires its folder be named exactly Talisman) or the folder might be nested

the big problem im having now is that I deleted the talisman file and everything with it but it's still somewhere on my computer apparently because it keeps on breaking

you can just run steam balatro on mobile and it just works

there's something called "Balatro Mobile Maker"
it takes the source code as input basically, so you can throw in mods by changing the source code, you'd just have to run those mods through lovely first and still add the steamodded part in some kind of mods folder

the deck kinda has the opposite flow of checkered, in that it's horrible early game and great late game

I am not sure, I follow the instructions to download steammodded and Lovely. However, when I try to run the game after changing the launch options, it comes up with an error saying that it can't be found

so having mods enable disables achivments and disabling them in the ingame mods tab should reenable achivments right?
you can use the steamodded setting to enable/disable achievements as needed
if you set it to disabled, you get no achievements
if you set it to enabled, you get achievements the same way as you would in a vanilla game
