ive just installed a bunch of mods and one of them has some sort of blue writing at the bottom when i click somthing. Anyone know how to stop it from appearing?
do you have DebugPlus?
yeah is that the mod causing it?
i can't tell you where the message is coming from, but DebugPlus is what's displaying it in-game
you can change its settings though to not do that

You can just go into Mods > DebugPlus > Config and uncheck show new logs if you want to use its other features

mods don't affect unlocks
achievements are disabled by default, but you can go into steamodded's settings and re-enable them if you want

it should have a few things in there like a config folder and hopefully the mods folder you've made

i've thought about this before and basically come up with two methods:
- versus mode (2- maybe 8 players?): each ante your boss blind's size is increased by some percentage of the other player's score against the small and big blinds. (skipping obviously gives a score of 0 for this purpose) all rounds would be played asynchronously but for dramatic purposes the boss blind would have to start and finish simultaneously (you wait for the other player). the final boss becomes straight up "highest score wins" (but if you both beat its single-player value you can go into endless mode)
- battle royale mode (at least 8 players, maybe 24 or unlimited?): at end of each round, if everyone beats the blind the lowest scorer is eliminated (not sure how to incorporate skipping into this)
and in both modes anyone who fails to beat the blind is eliminated, and if there's only one player left they win if they beat the ante. and if they don't beat the ante, whoever scored highest the round they died wins (or it's a tie, this would probably be a game option)

hey folks, been messing with mods and I've been having problems with Brainstorm. When I use Ctrl A the game crashes (here is the error message). Autorerolling crashes the game, fast rerolling and savestates dont work at all.
The Immolate.dll module is in the folder, not sure why it cannot load it.
I can configure parameters in the options menu just fine, in the Modslist it says the mod has been loaded successfully
rerolls are always 0$, everything costs either 1$ or 0$
I can get anything from the store a unlimited amount of times

Is there a basic explanation to why a lot of mods seem to add new secondary atlases if they're adding new Jokers and such in the game, instead of maybe adjusting the original atlas to have more room for the new Joker graphics?

TLDR; it’s easier to keep track of your own atlas then to add from an existing Joker atlas for it
Plus it saves on a small bit of file size since you don’t NEED the existing joker atlas
Imagine if each mod did that, everyone would have to choose positions on the atlas that no one else has used yet. Besides it's not possible to just extend an atlas, you'd have to redistribute all vanilla sprites as well

Depends what you want to do. First step is getting steamodded, then most likely the lovely injector, then whatever mods you want. Follow the readme files of each.
For cryptid, I'd recommend installing Talisman and Steamodded SEPARATELY, because for some reason I've had trouble using the versions provided to me in the zip file

Looked into omeganum some more, and yeah, the max is a number with approximately 10{999}10 digits, so you'd never get there unless you have some joker that bypasses the whole process and just falls back to naneinf.
In that way, I agree with jimbo that you can't break it normally. You getting naneinf there is because some other number isn't getting the omeganum treatment, and fallbacks to either bignum or the regular number engine

I want to release my mod, but since it doesn't have a full page of jokers, I don't feel like releasing it with a release version suffix of "v1.0.0" is right. It also doesn't feel right to release it with a release version suffix of "v0.1.0" either, though, since I have two-thirds of a full page of jokers. What should I put as my release version suffix?
Did balatro update recently or smth. When I tried to launch modded the other day, Windows Defender caught the mod launcher, I made an exception, and now the game doesn't load mods at all
When Windows Defender prevents the machine from loading "version.dll", I just go into windows defender and for the item that refers to that specific file, I select the option to allow it on the device. Windows flagging version.dll as a hacktool might be a false positive, but I'm not sure.
It's just weird because I had it allowed before
But I was sure I allowed it again too but now mods just don't load. It simply loads vanilla Balatro.

tbh me neither, looks like an incompatibility error, I'd try: 1) checking if the folder with the mod you're trying to install doesn't have an extra folder inside like [mod folder\mod folder\actualcode] 2) verifying file integrity in steam 3) see if any updates or previous versions work

yeah that can definitely mess stuff up, i have a folder (outside of the actual mods folder!) where i put all the mods and duplicate versions in case i need them in the future

A royal flush isn't its own hand, it's just a straight flush with a changed displayed name

I installed the latest version of Steamodded and now Balatro crashes before it starts. I replaced the latest version with the old version I was using beforehand from like 2 months ago & it worked, so just a bit confused if it's just "update your mods" that's fine but idk i'm not good at this stuff

The only things I see in there are the assets, the .toml & .lua. If I have to change something with these then how do I go ab that because I have never done this before

ideally you'll use a separate profile for playing modded and mods won't touch your main save
you can also just reenable achievements
then you can just rename (or remove) lovely's version.dll at any time to play unmodded
assuming here they mean they want to get C++ legitimately
yeah but some mods are cosmetic or whatever so having them enabled whilst doing achievements is also an option

@lean dune It's more the fact Mac has a bug where you can't just boot Balatro directly from Steam so have to do it via the lovely.sh whatever it is and I CBA.

is there a way to play cryptid without using lovely mod loader
apparently the version.dll file tried doing a port scan while it was in my antivirus's sandbox and we think that's suspicious
no idea why it would do that but feel free to compile it yourself if you dont trust it
