Hey, I think I'm having some unintended consquences with my modded experience and I would like to try and recitfy that but I'm not sure where to be looking.
First off, stone cards arent functionally properly. They give 50 chips as normal but they act as if they still have suits and ranks[debuffable by bosses, able to contribute to hands.]
Lastly, stickers just....dont exist. Regardless of how high the ante has been not a single sticker has shown up unless it was forced through either a voucher/tag etc.

although it could just be because, negative jokers really never show up in the base game, so even with 20X it still may be very unlikely xD

It's still extremely low, as base Negative chances without any modifiers is 0.3%, so it ends up coming up to 6%.
It's mainly just a flavor perk, and also a way to make the -2 Joker Slots slightly less sucky.

if you were to have consumables in the main shop all the time, the shop gets more expensive as you'll encounter consumables and thus need to reroll more often, when you need the primary source of scoring power, jokers
so by having booster packs as a side option, you can collect the consumables in one place and grab them if you want to

Hi all! I grabbed Poketro by PastTheFuture. I was half expecting to just be able to plug the assets and lua in to respective folders as I've modded things quite a bit and that's the usual way to go about it. But those folders don't exist, do I need a loader or anything?

the hardest thing will be collecting the data but even then you could make a program that acts as a mod that "watches" you play balatro and outputs data based on your run

yes but you can look at what has previously worked, sure it would be super difficult to make the very most optimal play in every single scenario but to make the most feasible winning play would be a lot easier
the bot would only have to make the most obvious optimal play that still wins

I like clean versioning so I change my version number and create a new release every time I fix a bug or add functionality. If I make multiple changes at once or if they're related, I usually group them under the same release. I feel like it helps when trying to diagnose issues where someone has version v1.4 but not the correct v1.4 etc

Jen is weird when it comes to distributing the mod, and has not only restricted it to the Cryptid Discord, but also he's completely took down the download for it until he releases 0.1.0
Cryptid used to be the big number mod, now Jen’s Almanac has taken that spotlight

He should've just kept it up if it was going to take that long.

Oh, it's absolutely fun, I don't deny that. It's just...with the massive stuff that's provided, it's a teensy bit hard to lose unless you're using INSANE stakes or restrictions.

If you installed lovely, it's possible the antivirus flagged it and automatically removed it
You can navigate to the game's directory by right-clicking the game in Steam, hovering "Manage", and selecting "Browse local files"
also, i tried using microsoft edge to install it b/c chrome auto prevented me, that shouldnt be a issue right?

I had this idea for an effect that applies to hand types but is passive, like levels
For now I made them into Jokers since I wasn’t sure how to implement them
I could make these constant
I could just hardcode them into scoring
But I wasn’t too satisfied with that
So I thought an invisible CardArea with invisible objects would be more elegant
But my only references for how to create new CardAreas and objects were a bit too complex for me

well I just extend tags and then rewrite the functions that need changing because of how I'm doing it. Tags don't actually use a cardarea so it's a bit different

Maybe Cryptid is failing to load the undiscovered atlas? Try on an unlocked profile

I have no idea if this is a modding bug or vanilla bug, but I just opened a standard pack, and instead of giving me the choice to pick a card, the 3 cards just appeared in the middle of the screen, and it returned to the shop. I can now freely drag those 3 cards around in the shop menu, but I can't actually click on them

name isn't important
it's only important that all the files are contained inside that folder and not in a folder nested inside another folder
regardless, generally you rename it to just "Steamodded" to be safe

I'm trying to install lovely on mac and i get an error when trying to boot up the game. It says:
'liblovely.dylib' could not be loaded: tried: 'liblovely.dylib' (mach-o file, but is an incompatible architecture (have 'arm64', need 'x86_64'))
but I am sure I downloaded the arm64 version of lovely (twice now, I deleted and redownloaded)
edit: fixed by running the shell command with arch -arm64
