There is a example mod for textures in the steammoded folder, are for jokers but you can modify for work for cards, and you can extract the original cards textures extracting the game exe

no, the Shapeshifter will gain the apropriate Xmult for every glass with Y rank, so if there is 5 glass A's, the Shapeshifter would later to X1.5 cause each glass ace gave +0.1Xmult

idea is that the cards you get delt at the begining determine what it's effect will be for that round

i wonder if the same could be done for balatro
like adding lua definitions to it to make coding a little easier
as someone who wants go get into moding but is a little intimidated
its definitatily possible but I don't think now is a great time to work on it. SMODS api is still in development and things are constantly changing, and new things are being added, and it would take a lot of work to keep it maintained. Also you would need to go through and document quite a bit of balatro's built in methods, which is also a lot of work, and also localthunk may break on us with the new content update
plus it wouldn't help at all for lovely

Making your own theme is a bit of a pain because it's just editing hex codes with no instant feedback, but it's not too bad
Just use a color picker in your browser or something, and go from there. Some people have provided templates that explain where each color goes

Moving the mod in another folder in the game files was my idea, like one for active mods and another for inactive
with a starting deck you'd be discarding to find 3s to play it
if ceremonial dagger gets to be uncommon this does too

foil could be the easiest, perhaps about making a majority of your deck one suit or something
i wouldn't want to make too many jokers with similar effects
i mean, theres 4 base game jokers that are just "this suit gets multiplier" so its not like its a sin

Hello! Newbie here. I'm on Mac and have yet to get ANY mods to work. Put mods in the correct "Mods" folder. Grabbed the latest Lovely files from github and put the run_lovely.sh & liblovely.dylib in the folder with balatro.app. I drag the .sh file to terminal to run and I'm getting the error: "/bin/bash^M: bad inerpreter: no such file or directory
I'm just lost
iirc for terminal you need to first type sh (the space is important), then drag the file

I know there's this one Ceres joker that doubles the rate of modded jokers showing up.
I also made a challenge pack where only modded jokers shows up, but that means you can't pick deck/stake options.

Yea, SMOD joker object have an attribute which Ceres calls
It just increases the rate tho, doesn't nullify vanilla jokers from spawning.
