Steamodded Mod loader seems to be bugged. I added a lots of mods and somehow the modloader starts acting weird everytime i try to disable or enable mods. Instead of exactly reloading the game with the exact mods i've enabled/disabled, the modloader re-enables some mods. What could i do?
Is there a way i could manually change mods i can load, like there's some file i could modify?
Even if i enable one single mod, some other mods get re-enabled even if they are not related.

Bunco adds quite a lot of stuff, one thing being new blinds and I think they fit really good and can screw you over much more often than just vanilla

I've added familiar, ceres and SDM_0 today. I think I added SDM + ceres and was able to flip through the decks so it might be familiar breaking something

Regarding familiar I did disable almost all of the content other than deck/challenges from familiar through the options conf. Could it be something weird like a deck that interact with content from the mod that I disabled so it cant even show on the new run screen?

the way the config is setup is just a bit scuffed, it's better to keep everything enabled or to play without the mod till the config is in a better state

If I dont misremember, I added this today and it booted fine but crashed when scrolling decks. Thinking it was steammodded I updated that one after, and then the game instacrashed because I still had KC. So I removed that, noticed the deck crash was still there, and then I moved familiar out of the folder

My logic rn is that there's an edition deck that's not being disabled properly

because I think due to a config oversight when you disable editions it doesn't disable the three editioned decks?
so it tries to load a shader that isn't configurated to loat

Codex Arcanum adds new consumables (And I think jokers) in the form of alchemy cards, I haven't found it to be too overpowered but it is pretty reliable

I'm so confused as to why my games lagging so bad. The game slowly depletes in framerate as I play hands, and I think retriggering the playing cards makes the framerate sink faster? I don't know how to explain it more than that, but any help would be appreciated on this issue. It's a real bummer when the frames go to the 20's after one hand
another thing to mention is it doesn't lag in the menu's at all, the frames go back to at least triple digits

i experience it with every deck eventually, but its fastwer with the cryptid decks (of course.) I know its probably mods causing the lag.
Though at the same time Roffle's code deck run had way more retriggers than the run I did today and it didn't have frame drops I could notice

There’s a memory leak in the game code.
It causes performance degradation over time. People have noticed it occurring even when idling the main menu. It seems likely that the degradation is accelerated during high-ante runs. There’s a number of factors that might cause the acceleration, whether it be negative consumables, larger decks, save file size, etc.
It also seems that the memory leak isn’t the only performance issue the game has. Card Areas with lots of cards also cause severe lag, which is notably eased on game-restart, but not completely eliminated.
Lua is a language that is no stranger to memory leaks, and often they can be caused by large amounts of global variables, improper garbage collection, etc. global variables aren’t automatically cleaned up in the same way local variables are, which can cause leaks if large data structure aren’t cleaned up properly.

btw if someone experiences this with DebugPlus you can now press p to get a breakdown of whats taking a while and v should give a in depth breakfown lf time in functions
and keep in mind pressing V will kill your performance
until you press it again

Are your cryptid/talisman folders named ...-main? If so, remove the -main parts so they're just named Cryptid and Talisman
and double check whether you have the latest version of cryptid/talisman

I already double checked your steamodded and lovely version, they're the latest
unfortunately Cryptid/Talisman don't keep perfect track of their version number and sometimes have duplicate version numbers with different code

make sure you create an exclusion for the game folder
otherwise defender will just evaporate lovely once you try to start the game

No, I've been in the mods folder itself and there is no Talisman. But it still runs.
Thank you, i got balatro working now. Somehow i deleted the steammodded source files in my mods folder and then i was getting another error but after just moving files around its all working
you very much do need talisman for cryptid
Steamodded automatically stopped most of Cryptid from loading once it detected Talisman wasn't present. It's a band-aid fix, Cryptid will not work, and you probably will crash if you start a run
Make sure you install Talisman if you want to use Cryptid

Yo, what causes everything to break after beating most blinds? Mod that takes the score to absurd levels is not active.
It was understandable with a certain divine card (can't remember the name) but then kept happening. It's also with Astral deck.
There's also a deck to the left of the 'Aces' one that can't even be looked at (results in a crash). Not sure what it's called or if someone else's left might function properly.
I take it back. It has now happened with the noisy deck too.

Update(09/04/2024): dwmapi.dll is now called version.dll. Also lovely.toml is included in the steamoddded source.zip so you're able to just download that. Everything else remains the same.
