it makes a bit of sense - if you buy a negative at 5/5, the game would add a "fake" slot, then do normal check for being able to buy a joker (so if you have an empty slot).
at 5/5 you go to 5/6 -> there's a free slot so we can buy this joker.
at 6/5 you go to 6/6 -> no space
it only doesnt make sense with cryptid jokers, like negative joker and tenebris (unless math fixed it already)
you should be able to buy negative joker at 6/5, since after purchase you have 6/9 (nice) jokers

Anyone know what could be the error? I got Dimserene's modpack so there is a ton of mods and reverting everything to get the game to work is something I don't wanna risk but i've checked all the files and everything seems updated and corect but it's still broken. And getting rid of cartomancer causes contracts to break and deleting that just makes the intro cutscene to play before crashing with an upvalve error

All mods should be supported on Mac, and my biased suggestion is the mod pack I maintain. At least as a list of suggested mods if you don't wanna use the whole thing

Large content pools breed a weird mindset in me I guess where I don't like mods to have features that only make sense within the mod itself
A similar reason I made defused instead of just using Fusion Jokers, the fusion mechanic feels pointless to me when it locks interesting effects a pre-requisite of finding two specific jokers.
me when i have a boss blind, a joker and a challenge locked behind a specific (albeit common) joker in my mod

Ive been playing around with the cryptid mod for a while now and finally got the game to crash in a previous run. This one was so eerie though. After I skipped two blinds back to back that definitely didn't work well together, my game went dead silent. Then it brought me to the main menu. I was able to get back into the run but a lot of the ui was missing and, again, my game was silent

Made a ideaboard but kiiiinda lost steam on it because some of the abilities of the characters would be finicky to translate into balatro, while others are easier

How it works: The first unscored cards of a blind will be removed from your full deck and their collective chip count will be added to this joker. The effect can carry over between hands, it just sees a hand with unscored cards and toasts them, then going onto cooldown. Doesn't include foil chips.
