- has anyone made a pity system for chance based effects? i.e, if you don't hit it, you have a higher and higher chance the next time it activates
there's a joker from a mod (don't remember which) that does that for all probabilities whenever a lucky card doesn't hit

I know there's multiple symlinks, but I have no steam folder in .local, and I use "~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2379780/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Balatro" to get to my save folder

First, download Lovely. Download he zip file here for Windows (assuming you're on Windows)

Inside that zip there's a file called version.dll
put it in the same folder as the game exe, just that file
Then youdownload stemmoded with the green code button here: https://github.com/Steamopollys/Steamodded
The getting started guide that was linked beforesays what the save data folder is for Balatro. Go inside that folder and make a folder called "Mods"
Extract the steamodded zip into that folder, keeping it in the steammodded subfolder, but making sure not to nest an extra folder inbetween
so it should look like Mods/Stemmoded-main/[the contents of thesteammoded repository]
Now, you're ready to download mods. Put whatever ones you download alongside steammoded in your Mods folder

If you decide to go that route, it comes with stemmodded. Just install lovely and use the provided Mods zip archive as your mods folder

it's a setting in talisman (mod that comes with cryptid). Go to setting -> talisman -> and untick on disable scoring animations

i have this main mod of joker that enhance their abilities mid run, but i still need the abilities for 5 jokers

here's my ideas:

Why would granting spectrals be too strong?
the ones that create planets and tarots are uncommon

What about a probability joker? Might be better suited for fortune, but, could move what you have on fortune to another and make Fortune a probability increasing joker.

Trying to load a mod into Balamod. I've got Balamod working and can see their little mod list tab in game, but I'm trying to drop a score calculator into the mod folder, but I can't find the mod folder.
anyone here know how to force the error message to show the full path, cause for me it cuts off at balatro (like in picture but it happens to all paths, including the one that actually tells me where the error accured)

I'm trying to get Brainstorm Mod to work. When I moved the Lovely Injector .dll file to the game directory, I am getting the above screen when booting the game. I have the Brainstorm .lua files (among all the other Brainstorm files) in my AppData/Roaming/Balatro/mods/Brainstorm folder, but I can't get the game to even run at this point. Anyone able to help troubleshoot this with me? Thanks in advance!

It's in Users/[name]/AppData/Roaming/Balatro/mods/Brainstorm and then the luas and whatnot are in that Brainstorm folder.

version.dll isn't in my steamapps/common/Balatro folder, so it might be.

Is Brainstorm mod how DrSpectred/Balatro Univiersity gets seeds that do Judgement into a particular joker? Like he uploaded a video yesterday where he rolled a Mega Arcana into Foil Stuntman and I don't know if there is a way to speedline that process. Maybe I need to investigate Debug Mode to choose more narrow parameters for the seeds?

Hey does anyone know how to reset or fix a save profile after deleting mods? I deleted my mods and got a error when I tried to press play. I uninstalling, reinstalled and verified the files. It has to be my save profile because when I created a new profile, it does not give me the error. Anyone know how I could try to fix this?

I absolutely think that it's okay to stray from comvention, and jokers in general are fairly free-form. Plus. It's (probably) early enough in ortalab to be less strict with conventions like that overall. One exception might stand out a little, but if there's ust more variety in general things will go together just fine.
Though I have to admit on an aesthetic level I kinda prefer the contrast on the right
Both are understandable, we just couldn't decide whether it was good to stray from it or not. if people like the black border one more then that's completely fine, that's the default anyway

i was thinking in the sense that a mult of X1 is essentially the "zero"
because X Mult never goes below 1 in base game.
i personally would be upset if i didn't get half of the xMult even though it said half
i suppose that's fair.
basically: if the joker would contribute to score, half of that score value is permanently added. if it doesn't? half of its sell value is added to dagger's sell value
which could still synergize with jokers like swashbuckler, or turn it into a poor man's econ joker.

and then after like 4 rounds of eating basic common chip jokers you're basically at stuntman status
and, that's chips you'd be scoring with no caveats, no "score a flush" requirements or anything just RAW points
but the problem with that philosophy is something i think people fail to realize:
the further you get, the fewer things matter for your overall score.
because there's no real way to exponentialize chips, high chip counts usually stop mattering in the later antes
flat mult is the next one to stop really mattering, especially if you get to leveling your chosen hand enough.
if you get consistent chip and mult jokers? congrats, you've got a big stat stick you have to remember to keep moving

and Balatro (obviously) uses x1 sprites
and when scaling up images it can be done by %, so the double size info is irrelevant
like I said there are 1x and 2x sprites that can both be used, depending on if pixel smoothing is on or not
it's practically irrelevant in the creation process though since you just need to scale the 1x sprite up
