i've got:
- joker display
- a card recolor pack
- less intrusive + always shown stickers
- joker sell value
- wheel of fortune tracker (disabled any rng changes, tracking only)
- balatro safety
and then a few that i don't think could possibly have any effect (achievements enabler, escape exit button, and main menu tweaks)
disabling all my mods and resuming the game still has the duplicate, but i assume that whatever caused it would have already happened
i'll post the seed when i get it

It has come to my attention that the Phoenix joker from my mod is incompatible with the Talisman mod. When I checked with Mr. bones and my mod deactivated, talisman still crashed the modded game...

luckily Proton is pretty decent, especially for things like this that aren't really platform dependent. Lua runs on anything, and the difference between native and not is fairly minmal afaik

It does. All you need to do is find where steam puts the exe and put the version.dll there. There's audio a string you need to add to the startup instructions for the game in steam, that's the only thing that really separates it from windows. That's on their github now
And as did steamodded and the now themselves, it's all the same as windows too

by far the most amount of jokers ive had on the screen w/o a crash on this mod, as a matter of fact, almost every deck causes me to crash within like 5 antes except this deck (the deck that has +20x a joker is negative and you start with 4 joker slots)

the mod is cryptid and its pretty broken
it also has ultrakill refrences so its already broken
i have trouble trying to understand the power fantasy of mods like that, like im literally hours trying to strategize my mods so they are balances as much as i can. i guess its like the balatro default gratification x 1000 for some people

i found that even minor changes to default balatro can be very unbalanced
for eg i added interest for discards like green deck to all decks and.. the game was just so easy by that change only

Has anyone actually gotten steamodded to work on mac? I can't get it to work because lovely.dylib isn'tn signed so the OS refuses to load it
(Was able to get it work by diving about 5 layers deep into the securtiy settings where I could finally white list the thing...)

people already don't take red card when it's at +3 mult
+75 mult isn't even really that much at all in the late game
Coupon catalog can easily get over 200 by endless, and even then it's not really an instant win button
often any one booster pack is worth way more than +3 mult plus you're giving up economy by taking every pack that is likely not relevant

having the econ necessary to support buying juicy booster packs only to skip them to scale for more mult

At first it was just 6 Suits but that run I used; Mikas, Multi Jokers, Themed Jokers, LushMOd, JankJonklers, and what ever mods are installed with downloading steamodded
But I think it's just the mods being out dated because I used them before they added the need for downloading LoveV2, just going to download the newer versions
Lushmod is extremely old AFAIK and is likely a lot of the problem

Working through Cryptid Mod decks, and found this particular run to be insanity.

Steamodded is the standard mod loader we use, yeah

eventually this should get integrated with steamodded itself as some sort of launcher, but this is what we have for now

It’s a runtime Lua injector
I heard the word runtime about 100 times on the internet but idk what it means
basically what we had before was Steamodded's code compiled into an executable that would patch itself into the game files by changing the game executable
Lovely does the same sort of thing, but without modifying the executable
it applies patches whenever the game is started

modded booster packs compete with vanilla booster packs in slots. Would be cool to remedy this sort of like the zodiac deck has the overstock voucher along with the other vouchers so that joker appearance rate is still quite high

In a way, both. Codex will be getting an update to 1.0.0 at some point, but the existing code can work on 1.0 if SMODS.Booster and SMODS.Tag are renamed within codex

hey so im trying to get the latest verion of steammodded, i dont really get the instructions on how to use git, i made the mods folder, i ran git bash i pasted all the commands into it and now have a steammodded folder inside my mods folder but it does not seem to do anything, like whenever i run balatro with a test mod its just the vanilla game
am i missing a file or something?

Very weird. Nothing else I renamed seems to care what the folder is called but it's now working after putting Ankh's name back to default.

Once the slot expires you have to sell a joker to be able to take negatives, and 2 jokers to take a non-negative

It’s associated with a rare consumable which assigns the edition to a rare joker in shop and cannot be obtained anywhere else.
How would you even go to program a joker that forces you to sell one joker of choice, personally having 6/5 joker is not that strong if you are not basically set with jokers that you are not planning to replace at all, and i think that occurence of having those exact 5 jokers is rarer than the percentage of getting rare jokers in and of itself

is there an effective way to switch between steamodded 1.0.0 and 0.9.8 since most mods still haven't switched over to 1.0.0 yet, and there are quite a lot of goods ones at that
probably easiest would be installing it with git and then doing git checkout 0.9.8 / git checkout main

I definitely see why some people don't like blodstone (or in this case the diamonds version of bloodstone from Flounder's mod. I played 2 flush fives and the first one got like 8M and the second one (without having Dawn to benefit from) got 50M
