It shouldn't be all that long before we'll consider a release, for now there's mostly bugs with newly added stuff to iron out as well as lots of docs to write

Hmm seems I can't use steamodded. The nature of the mod means relying on folders outside of the base directory is self defeating. Need to work around that I guess

Outside folders? By that I mean the base save folder in appData or wherever it is depending on OS
Since steammodded and lovely seem to rely on that Love2D behavior, not sure I can use those. Could be wrong tho, just from a initial glance

I don't understand what you're trying to achieve/do
My mod changes the save system so that saves are stored in the same folder as the game (in a 'save/' subfolder). Since this mod is made for putting the game on a portable disk drive or other storage medium, the %appdata%/Balatro folder or wherever that Steammodded and Lovely use to load mods will most likely not be there.
So, I'll probably have to just share it as the modified files and include some install instructions
lovely allows you to specify a different mod dir, so I think that's not an issue actually
I'd be careful with directly sharing modified files, it's unmaintainable and you might run into legal issues

I tried Codex Arcanum for awhile but I felt the booster packs took up WAY too many of the booster slots, 8 of them sort of made editing my deck much harder because of the lack of tarot packs
I really liked the quality/integration though. Felt Vanilla quality
And I enjoy Bunco for some things but I also find Bunco to be broken in a couple very frustrating ways. Lookin through the huge list of mods though I really feel lost looking for new ones.

I don't think any one mod will bring balance, but a couple mods attempt too such as my own.
Codex feels balanced I just personally don't enjoy it. If anything it makes the game harder

What if you changed the condition slightly? 250 chips, -50 whenever you play a hand that doesn't include 5 scoring cards
Sorta thematically, you're constantly going for the big stunts like Full House or Straight, and you crash if you can't pull them off

this happened to me once when the options have too many tabs
it seems to be caused by the latest release of trance
It works fine when thats not in the mods list
although an older release was fine
try uninstalling trance for now

I was able to reproduce the crash only when I had all of the spectral pack mods installed so I assume it has to do with the settings tab being too long?
I ended up changing the UI to all be in one tab and that fixed crash issues

Noticed these "errors" in the bottom of the terminal that opens with balatro, is it all normal or indicates that something isn't working as it should? I've played a bit and so far not really noticed anything behaving weird I think, but I wanted to ask

On the github page it says: Please refer to the Installation Instructions in the Steamodded guide. While it is possible to use the injector for versions 0.9.8 and below, this method is no longer recommended and is deprecated starting in version 1.0, which is current in Alpha.

The only things rn you're missing out on is Reverie & Codex Arcanum along with MoreFluff
but Codex is coming out with a day 1 1.0 patch and idk about Reverie or More Fluff

To make it mod-compatible you could probably replace the rarity poll so it uses a different curve
Using this curve you get:
Common: 70.0% -> 45.2%

You could give legendaries like a 0.01% chance to spawn in normally so they spawn 100x more often

balamod is however not compatible with either last I checked
i run balamod thru lovely but i changed balamod for that

You can write a mod that accesses the localization table and edits specific entries
