trib has a better deck fixing options and more accessible poker hands

aj has less boss blinds that hard counter it and has an earlier barrier of entry

im tryna figure out who I should put higher on my revised tier list

I think when it comes down to that sort of thing it’s Ancient and there’s not much debate to it, the deck fixing for Trib is kinda really inconsistent to find and the conditions to use Ancient consistently are a lot more lenient (basically, you need any extra hand/discard voucher). I also just hate the concept of hard losing to plant with very limited counterplay.

The thing Trib has going for it is that you don’t really need levels for it to be good if you draw the hand - “I must find Jupiters now” holds Ancient back a lot and while that’s still a problem with Trib, it’s much smaller of one

I think if you were to put me at a random point in a run and gave me a soul into Trib and a judgement into Ancient I’d be more likely to use Triboulet than Ancient

But if you put me at the start I’d want the Ancient

Pair of 6's or higher oneshot the BB and pair of 9's or higher oneshot the boss, both of which are highly likely to happen, oneshotting BB puts you at 10$ if you dont get mercury, oneshotting boss puts you at 20$, getting mercury leaves you with 7$ after BB and after boss 16$

Id say its worth the risk to skip the mercury since pulling oneshots without it is highly likely
