the problem of hiker is that he's compared with other scaling chip jokers, which most of them works on pairslop (Runner, Square, Castle, wee) so you mostly just skip it if you play pairslop or a average build

if you can consistently draw the same hand of the same cards each round hiker is an effective +5 chips per hand times the number of cards in the poker hand
regardless of how many of said hand you play per round if you can find the same ones hiker amounts to that

you’d think that’s pretty good but finding an identical hand each round is hell of a condition to meet

hiker being less effective on them is a bad point for it
