To jump start your eco, I don't have anything against it, but in my experience most runs in gold stake die ante 5-6 and losing that joker slot at this time is pretty detrimental, especially since it does nothing at this point (no more econ).

Ante 2 is easy to get past usually, that's my thing with riff raff, it is godly ante 1-2 but useless past ante 3, even detrimental. Mind you, it is my playstyle and I can understand why people would take an eternal riff raff.
