I woke up and somehow the first thing I was asking myself, was how could you make balatro a board game so you could play it anywhere even in places where you cant use phones and it seemed really hard.

In the beginning I thought a simple calculator and the jokers plus a card deck would make it easy but then I realized its not that simple.

Just imagine invisible joker, you would have to make it be able to tell you what slot of jokers it copies, thats already hard.

Then I thought of showman which would copy jokers so a set of joker cards wouldnt be enough, also how do you shuffle the duplicate jokers in?

Then I thought it should be a screen with touch, but then its a phone playing the mobile version again, so there really isnt a solution right?

The extra discard red deck gives you is really useful for deck value like seals or specific cards, and it makes it easier to play bigger hands like flushes and straights (flushers are actually trash but It might be fine since it's white stake). Also, it could just happen that you get a completely different build that doesn't need discards and that's fine, but the extra discard just makes it easier to play builds that actually depend on discards

You could also just be straight up unlucky enough to not pull many two pairs to scale trousers or something. Or make a devastating misplay.
