However Flush doesn't have great jokers and is hard to play more than twice per round

Your best way to win is typically either one giant hand or a bunch of smaller hands

So go back into Red Deck on White Stake and see what planet cards and jokers you get, then try to build your deck and strategy around those. If the game gives you a lot of Saturn cards, maybe Straight is the answer. But if you get a couple of Mercury cards early, Pairs is usually the safe bet.

focus on understanding the basics: how chips, mult, and xmult effect your score, building, generating, and maintaining econ, how to deckfix with standard and arcana packs, how to build planet levels, etc.

My experience:
Ante 1-2: play big hands, try to finish ante in max 2 hands, save money and look for good +mult jokers.
Ante 3-4: scale +mult, play smaller hands (pair or high card or 2 pair if you have spare trousers). Try to get xmult.
Ante 5-8: scale xmult and planets, deckfix, etc
Post ante 8: go for the quintillions of points with retrigger jokers
