It's still worth visiting the shop on the small blind with the reward money gone, it just makes it harder to hit the interest cap quickly. Make sure to only buy things you need in the moment. It helps to keep in mind that Ante 1 can be beaten without jokers. Sometimes getting by with the bare minimum is the way.
