the way to use obelisk is play pairs a lot until ante 4 or 5, then switch to play anything else once you have at least 13 or so pairs played. after that you never play pairs again and you gain the fastest scaling xmult joker in the game and an easy win

As an idea of just how much you lose per skip:

• Without vouchers or rerolling, the 2 shop slots is already $5 to see, let alone if you include the packs and voucher, or potentially rerolling
• Scaling from jokers
• Hand money (usually $3)
• Interest money (Hopefully $5)
