Yorick is a good joker, one of the best in the entire game; imo that's precisely its main problem
the moment you get yorick, the game is won. that's not very interactive game design as even the strongest of strategies in the game tend to at least have some weakness: constellation being unusable with bad econ, on-scored being vulnerable to card debuffs, etc. even disregarding its strength, which can simply be purported as being a 'legendary', its method of scaling is still too barebones, scaling via discards being essentially getting stronger by playing the game. it only further augments the idea that yorick is an uninteractive joker especially compared to its peer legendaries (canio scaling via face cards destroyed, triboulet being a consistent idol, etc) and its peer xmult jokers (campfire directly converts econ to xmult, lucky cat is fast to scale but needs retriggers/a lot of luck etc etc) which overall does make it strong but in my opinion detracts from balatro's design philosophy
Not helping matters is the psychological effect that yorick even existing has on the soul card - currently, getting soul means you have a 1/5 chance to instantly win the game no matter what, and a 4/5 chance to not instantly win the game, and i think that feels bad, as does most of yorick's other qualities, and is why i feel its design as a joker is simply heavily flawed
