Yorick is a good joker, one of the best in the entire game; imo that's precisely its main problem
the moment you get yorick, the game is won. that's not very interactive game design as even the strongest of strategies in the game tend to at least have some weakness: constellation being unusable with bad econ, on-scored being vulnerable to card debuffs, etc. even disregarding its strength, which can simply be purported as being a 'legendary', its method of scaling is still too barebones, scaling via discards being essentially getting stronger by playing the game. it only further augments the idea that yorick is an uninteractive joker especially compared to its peer legendaries (canio scaling via face cards destroyed, triboulet being a consistent idol, etc) and its peer xmult jokers (campfire directly converts econ to xmult, lucky cat is fast to scale but needs retriggers/a lot of luck etc etc) which overall does make it strong but in my opinion detracts from balatro's design philosophy
Not helping matters is the psychological effect that yorick even existing has on the soul card - currently, getting soul means you have a 1/5 chance to instantly win the game no matter what, and a 4/5 chance to not instantly win the game, and i think that feels bad, as does most of yorick's other qualities, and is why i feel its design as a joker is simply heavily flawed

one of the best in the game too; for a multitude of reasons from an innocuous premise of 'uncommon jokers each give x1.5 mult'
it gives a build direction, whether it's taken early mid or late game - in a game where direction is almost everything, to have a joker that provides it and gives scoring that is more than adequate for its opportunity cost is an incredibly large boon, not even considering the implications of every uncommon giving x1.5 yet
making every uncommon x1.5 makes every uncommon viable; every uncommon no matter how esoteric gives xmult with bbc which allows for a surprising amount of strategy
'bad' uncommons like idol seance and showman, rather than being unusable on gold stake runs instead gain a second wind of giving x1.5 mult
xmult and +mult uncommons have additional note simply because x1.5 on top of the value they themselves already give is significant; retrigger jokers have inherent synergy as they are uncommon and strategies that tend to use them (wee, ancient joker, triboulet) can always make use of baseball card for more xmult; utility and econ uncommons also have note simply due to the fact that they would not provide scoring by themselves if not for bbc - cloud 9, shortcut, and so many more, because the amount of uncommons means you will almost never run out of options
and you don't necessarily have to only use uncommons in any given run; 2 alone give x2.25 mult which is more than see2, more than duo, more than ramen, and considering you in a typical run have a +mult joker, an econ joker and 1 or 2 xmult jokers, should at least 2 of those be uncommon that already justifies bbc's place on any given build - let alone 3 or even 4 uncommons giving x3.375 and x5.0625 mult respectively which would easily allow you to beat violet vessel in 1 hand; but even then a bbc run can and does beat violet vessel making its score ceiling more than adequate, as well as being resilient to most boss blinds
