in all fairness it's so entry level you could easily complete it if all you ever knew about before was using a browser in windows. There's detailed comparison of MBR vs GPT, quite literally all file systems, optional manual kernel config, different bootloaders, and most importantly all of it can be run from any distro without a live stick.
A lot of stuff is choose one of like 3 options, so in reality the part you follow is decently shorter.

Arch wiki in comparison is pretty much "haha use pacstrap and that's it" and lackluster padding involving bootloader

Well one way on the other, it's about having a measurable long range difference between hand types which sorta represents rarities. I'd agree if the rarities itself wouldn't get broke by cloning cards, converting to suits, removing unwanted cards and many deck manipulations. Since deck manipulation is part of the game, it's - imho - pretty understandable that at late game the differences become obsolete in the matter of hand probability with basic deck poker hands.

Dr. Spectred is most likely the best player and is well respected in the community. His words and opinions carry huge weight and impact in the Balatro community—as I see it. However, I think he doesn’t fully realize the level of his impact, not just on advanced players but on newbies as well.

I’m not trying to personally attack him, but the title of that recent video can be controversial for newcomers.
“Balatro has a MASSIVE balance problem” — after thousands of hours of joyful gameplay, I know he didn’t mean to cause any damage or degrade the game in any form, but he underestimates the impact of wording itself and its importance on YouTube when representing the game. ||

|| I know this is basically judging a book by its cover, but YouTube video titles can be misleading and demotivating for newbies. That’s just how it works, along with those clickbait thumbnails—it’s psychological.
People who are already deeply familiar with the game won’t see it as controversial. Maybe I’m over-exaggerating the situation from my personal newbie viewpoint, and I know this game is awesome, providing hundreds—if not thousands—of joyful hours in the future.
