i wouldnt say so, ive done it twice and ive not had much issue with it being luck based.
the main thing that's luck based are specific jokers that need to be found on very good runs late enough to be able to fullskip for them, for example Turtle Bean and Popcorn as they both expire in 5 rounds and so aren't affected by perishable

popcorn and turtle bean have never been in my last 10 for either C++, nor have any legendaries

as theyre high priority jokers so they tend to get done earlier actually

What does everyone think about savescumming? IMO while it can be used to cheese a win, it can also create a unique challenge when trying to squeeze in as many unstickered jokers as possible for C++

Last run I was in a nigh unwinnable scenario as I wanted to pick up Ice Cream but it, along with another unstickered dead weight joker, took up the slots needed for stencil, so I had to grab campfire, sell stencil, sell some planets from blue seals, and alternate between playing and discarding to get 2 steels and a glass to score just enough on the final hand. Had to savescum from the start of ante 8 to set it up.

It took so many attempts and precise set up that as far as I’m concerned, I earned those 2 gold stickers
