otherwise it's more of a early game econ leverage that snowballs your decision making as more money leads to more choices. also undoes red stake hurdle in which the 16-19 dollars into first shop allows you to pick up 8+ dollar jokers where you otherwise couldnt.

play as you would normally in a general sense. save up to interest cap and don't spend under unless needed. make exceptions for specific long term benefits

pairs have scaling jokers which a majority of the proactive jokers that scale and work well with pairs, happen to ignore the perishable tag which proactive scalers cannot receive

this is not always a hard rule to follow. its a general scoring case to catch up to the blinds in their respective part of the game.

mult scalers are good early since you're highest base mult is 4 and one round of grimbo/nova/bus is x2 the mult (4+4=8).

chip jokers are decent mid game and usually I try to seek the ones that trigger regardless of what I play while also scaling (runner, wee, bull, castle, square). they have higher numbers per unit of whatever is required for them to scale to offset the ratio of base chips from poker hands to the chip joker.

square for example gains 16 chips a round or 48 chips an ante. that is equivalent to 3 mercuries or jupiters worth of chips. they are also rarer to find than scaling mult jokers as there are fewer chip jokers in the game.

Also once you start getting alot of xmult you will want to get rid of mult jokers. Then your hand levels will be your primary source of base mult. Your hands will be affected alot if you don't have little bit of base mult from levels.

They actually help a lot, it’s like upgrading your basic attack damage in a roguelike, it helps more than you’d think because everything gets added and multiplied by that after

Uh, to be honest, it's mostly playing over and over until you know the combinations that work well, the "always get" jokers like hanging chad, blueprint, and unlocking some of the stuff over multiple runs

I can give general tips.

1. Econ. This is your biggest tip. Never start spending unless you are at interest cap or have means to go back to interest cap. You can spend if you really need. But this should be your priority. Don't let your econ break. Your runs success depends on primarily this.

2. Chip jokers sre important. But don't need too many. At start only keep one when you don't have planet levels

3. Commit to one particular hand. Pairs are your best and most safest bet most of the time. But can change depending on circumstances.

4. You don't need multiple +mult jokers. Look for xmult once you have good enough mult source. Good xmult will win you the game. Xmult goes right most spot on joker spot.

5. If you get a good card early make a point of copying it. Good card can be gold/steel cards with red seal. Purple seals, glass + poly cards with red seal, blue seals, lucky cards with gold seal etc.
