not much of an artist but there a few things

1. practice makes perfect (sorry)
2. don't beat yourself too much. you can only improve but at the end of day, most people aren't going to get upset of the joker is good art wise, they will care more if the joker is fun to play vanilla and with other mods
3. try to stick to a palette or keep your scope small
4. look the vanilla jokers or other mods to get inspiration
5. try designing the joker first as sometimes the art comes in later

for example a lot of jokers vanilla and modded are related to something in real life so maybe look around to get inspiration for jokers both design and art wise
