Based on the modern hell of late-stage capitalism, you start with an eternal Oxygen Bill, which only hurts the player instead of helping them. It takes money from your funds and becomes more expensive to take care of over time, making money-making schemes essential to feed it. If you don’t pay the full amount with what you have, you immediately die.
The Branded Deck isn’t supposed to be one you gain power from. It’s more like a challenge. Desperately claw at any opportunity to gain an extra cent just to get by.
I also made Card Sleeves, because I’m very hip and cool with the modded Balatro hoopla. B)
