Reposting here - probs more appropriate - I got all the Balatro cards printed! They turned out really well.

I only did this for my own amusement, not to be sold or anything. Every single card in the game is represented here, all 150 jokers, one deck of high contrast cards, two decks of the normal cards. Every single tarot, spectral and planet card. Double backs of each deck’s back. Custom box of the Balatro logo.

Some cards were hard to do and thus didn’t print too accurately, such as jokers are were “full bleed”, i.e. would print right to the edges, I wanted a small white border on each one any way in case they were used for some sort of shuffling purposes (real life Balatro?), so you couldn’t tell what card was what from the edges.

The whole project tons needed editing to make them look like they do in game. I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out, and they’re printed on really high quality card stock too.

I was curious about developing my own mod for Balatro based off of a deck of cards I love in real life, the Stardeck five-suit deck by The Game Crafter (and originally Chicago Playing Card Company). I'm actually a bit of a pixel art hobbyist by nature, so I drew up a rough concept of the suit.

I'm fairly sure the inspiration for the face suits is obvious.

the alternative for the enhancement tarots is "select N cards with Z enhancement, <effect>" which feels a bit too specific (doing that for suits is fine since there are only four and cards usually have one of them, but there are 8 enhancements and cards deliberately need to gain them)

might as well also define inverted planets

• most inverted planets have the description of "upgrade every poker hand other than <hand dedicated to this planet>"
• the inverted secret planets only appear if their corresponding secret planet has been unlocked during the run
• white hole: for every hand, removes all levels, and converts them into permanent xmult for that specific hand after everything else has scored

also mind and white hole are also inverted spectrals
