If you use Photopea, make sure to change from Brush to Pencil (importantly this also sets Hardness to the maximum), then set the size as you wish. Similarly you'll have to set the Eraser to Pencil mode.

My idea was kinda like sacrificing your last discard and the potential for a big hand but you get a special effect for your high card. not sure it would lead to interesting situations though

getting one discard when a high card is played may be fine though. That would be useful when you want to play one big hand and you need more discards for consistency

FYI when I made each of the tarot/planet/spectral cards I spent a long time on each creating the base by itself first with a large 'blank canvas' area, and for the most part the art that changes between cards is fairly large. The blank canvas area is also pretty 'bare bones'
And all 3 types of consumables are slightly thinner than normal playing cards too!
