i have an idea for a mod project. its called insanity++, the goal is to be more unbalanced than cryptid. dm me if you want to join or have ideas. also heres some stuff i have so far (ive mainly been working on stakes)

+Overpriced stake: difficulty #6. Sell value for all cards is halved and cards cost 25% more to buy, in order with natural shop scaling. Applies all previous stakes.

+Californium stake: difficulty #5. Jokers are 3 times more expensive and all have the mortal stamp (unless eternal or bulletproof).If a joker is destroyed due to the mortal tag it can appear in the shop again but it will be double the buy price. You can prevent this though by giving a joker the immortal edition with a lucky draw from a divine pack.

+Suicidal stake: difficulty #4. joker have a chance to spawn with the suicidal stamp which causes a joker to have a 1 in 30 chance to destroy themselves, when this happens they have a 7/10 chance to not destroy themself and instead will be debuffed for 3 rounds before the debuff wears off, if this event happens the stamp is removed from the joker and it gains the bulletproof stamp.

+Murderous stake: difficulty #3. Jokers have a chance to be murderous (they have a 1% chance to destroy another joker upon selecting a blind, this can be countered though by getting jokers that are eternal or have the bulletproof tag/edition/effect) applies all previous stakes.

+Sacrificial stake: difficulty #2. destroys a random joker in your inventory every time a boss is defeated. you also start with $-5. Applies all previous stakes.

+Eternal stake: difficulty #1. The required ante to win is now 24. Applies all previous stakes.

+Nullified stake: difficulty #0 (secret stake, discovered by reaching ante 38).required ante to beat is 32 Every card and joker is debuffed except for enhanced cards and jokers. Applies all previous stakes.

Figure out where your scoring is coming from, and manage your economy.

For scoring, you want a method of gaining chips, additive mult, and multiplicative mult.

For chips, planets are usually your best option but jokers like Square Joker, Runner, and Banner can work (some are better than others).

For additive mult, planets are also a source, but usually you want some jokers like Supernova, Green Joker, Abstract, or Erosion. Scaling mult is generally really good as it gets to be stronger than most flat mults in the mid to late game.

Multiplicative mults are also important but which ones are good often depends on what build you've got at that point. There are multiplicative jokers that are generally good, such as Hologram, Constellation, and Blackboard. There are also other multiplicative jokers that rely on conditions to balance them out. Driver's License is good but can take a while to get active, Seeing double is easy to activate but doesn't provide as much value.

Having a good balance of these is important, recognising when and how each joker is useful is more important though.

As for economy, try and get to $25 early, and stay there. You gain $1 of interest at the end of each round for each $5 you are holding, capping out at $5 when you are at $25.

Jokers can also give money, either at the end of round, such as Golden Joker and Rocket Ship, or during the round when you do certain actions, like Mail-In Rebate or To-do List.

Tarots are also generally quite useful, so use those to supplement what you need.
