Interestingly enough, on the iOS version of the game before the bugfix came out that fixed everyone's progress saving correctly, I got annoyed and pressed unlock all to try and at least make some progress in the game. After the patch came out, for some reason only parts of the unlock all got reverted on my save. That left me with all cards and decks unlocked, but I could still get achievements and couldn't access any stakes/more than 5 challenges

but in the situations where it isnt useful

the thing is that the situations where it is powerful, some consistent and diligent deck fixing does the same thing without taking up a joker slot

now there are always times you dont get the right tarots, but

A: If you don't get the right tarots you might not want to go all in on a build you cant support
B: there is less garuntee that you will get parei than the right tarots

now it is viable to buy it early and sell it once you deck fix, but then you have to buy it early AND be doing a face build AND not have the support to consistently do a face build

you could also speculatively buy it too, but thats spending money on something that requries more jokers to do something AND doesnt benefit score directly (compared to something like a speculative driver's liscense, baseball card, or vampire)

those are my thoughts on parei at least

i do enjoy it with Business Card and Reserved Parking

and with Midas it gets funny (got Midas Mask on a run of Mad World I did recently)
