So I'm currently working on concepts for my own roguelike game
I plan on basing the game on a combination of two games that are basically just different versions of each other: backgammon and long nardy
I'm also thinking about maybe adding just a hint of Yahtzee mechanics
Still not 100% sure how I want the combat to work yet but I think it's coming along just fine
I'm thinking about one of the main themes being based around using pieces from other board games and maybe adding cards as well somehow
I wouldn't want the cards to effect too much of the gameplay though

Matrix is an independant open protocol, which normally doesn't give a shit about discord. It's more akin to a standardized XMPP (or IRC if it was developed in modern age).
It has its own ecosystem with native clients for whatever you want (IIRC, there even was a client for Nintendo 3ds because why the fuck not), different server implementations and everything else and is fairly popular in linux/technical world.
Being an open protocol, it also has bridges which abstract functions of different proprietary protocols (e.g. whatsapp, telegram, discord) to Matrix standard, which means you get to have Matrix chats and all else integrated seamlessly between each other.

Honestly the worst thing for you in what I made is the cauliflower - lots of sour cream and parm cheese. How else do you make it taste half decent.
