I always thought typing speed was kind of a lie - like when I learned touch typing I was getting up to 90-100 wpm on the website I was using to learn but typing code is another beast entirely. It's almost a different skill considering the amount of special characters that are ONLY typed by your pinky and the hotkeys/features of your tool (VSCode in my case) that you use to increase your 'effective' typing speed
I am waaaaay slower at typing code than 90 wpm, and even when I am just typing normally I don't type that fast because the goal isn't speed (unlike when practicing typing or taking a typing test)

The only two things I ever learned about vim: how to get into insert mode and how to quit (saving/not saving/forcing with a bang). It has gotten me through needing to do some basic editing on headless OSs, but I do like the fancy colors and ease-of-use of using VS Code as an editor

the "versus" part is the way LC frames it. to be very clear, this is one-sided harassment: LC is just being a bully, and rude, and generally exhibiting toxic behaviour. if you watch jorb's stream (which I do, I watch it every week), jorbs makes it a point to not mention LC either by name or by online handle, nor does he allude to the drama in any way (on stream). the word "Lifecoach" is banned in chat, and any viewer attempting to even mention the drama is quickly banned by the mods.
jorbs has attempted to resolve the situation in a civil way. jorbs tried privately messaging LC (LC has been ghosting jorbs for 4 years now) and reporting harassment to twitch admins (they have done nothing, unsurprisingly). the multi-slides powerpoints to defend himself only began in late 2023, while LC campaign of targeted harassment went all the way back to 2020.

that's so cool. i imagine a lot of people have been inspired by balatro already and we're just before a wave of games that are inspired by balatro's score attack style. the first thing i tried to do after playing the balatro demo is to make a tetris version lololol

i made this game with my partner immediately after thunk took down the 50 round demo, we had no idea what we were doing and totally overscoped lol. its like tetris but with an inventory of "pieces" that would be shuffled and given to you in a round of tetris. you could buy artifacts and new pieces with special effects and shapes
the game had a functional* turn-based elemental system on a tetris grid which we were proud of

The biggest freak-out factor imo would be learning how to integrate, since you have to figure out the best strategy instead of just applying a set of steps that you know will work every time
