For folks struggling to win more than 50% of the time, I recommend the first two episodes in this series. I recorded two complete runs, one on Red Deck and one on Blue Deck, with 2.5 hours of commentary for each.

In this third episode, we continue the Blue Deck run into Endless mode, reaching Ante 18 and scoring e29. The Endless mode experience doesn't really teach us much to help with our "normal runs," so we'll be moving on to Yellow Deck next time.

I'm watching him now. His thoughts on the stake that increases shop prices is negative. Thinks it makes the game unfun as it essentially excludes access to the shop packs (a feature he greatly enjoys about the game). Thinks the rest of the stakes are mostly fine though. I haven't played the game for a bit so I' not sure if the thought is shared. I wonder if your thoughts are the same since I'm assuming you try your hand at the higher stake levels.

Since upgrading to OBS 30.0.2, my cursor disappears if OBS is capturing the game.
I'm also having issue consistently capturing the game, but right now the cursor is the bigger issue.

I have the issue with the cursor disappearing all the time. It'll show up in the obs preview but not on my game screen

My solution is that there's a source on my scene that's a window capture. And it's causing a bug w the game capture. So I just hide the window capture and restart the game or steam and it fixes it

Cause I have a couple sources for window captures for some on screen assets. And it only happens when they're active along w the game capture and I tab out.

I noticed that myself that I tended to just play the stuff on the left instead of including the suits on the right in the run after I looked at it again. Which if I just had them sorted by rank I wouldn't have done that. I play with that joker so rarely in a flush run (it either just doesn't come up for me, or I'm already so set up I don't need it) that I just kept forgetting to include the other suits a lot of time.

That being said I don't think there was too many hands where I think that my mistakes would've saved me an extra hand. I do appreciate the feedback though.

Though I imagine part of that may include discarding lower cards of flushes I already have to hunt for higher ones which I tend not to do. I will take the one less discard and keep the flush because my luck is well, kind of extreme in general (both good and bad). I will play the odds on a lot of things, but I won't take a guaranteed score and throw it away chasing a one hit and potentially turn that into a three hit instead because I miss and the deck won't just stop spiting me when I instead for sure have a sure two hit. I'll instead keep the two hit and use the discards and hope I get the one hit with slightly lower odds.

That all being said I'm also willing to bet I made some other mistakes here and there in regards to discard and play. I'm still getting used to talking while playing.

To varying degrees of success, we've always attempted to be educational. Even back in the Fall demo season, we had a tutorial series covering building around the different hands. Unfortunately, the most popular vids, by far, are the high score (and now high ante) runs, with 10x viewership over the more education vids. Some folks have even commented that they don't play the game at all but can still appreciate seeing the big numbers.

The release of the full game has been an obvious boon to viewership, compared to the demo season, now that folks can actually own and play the game. Even if it falls off in the next couple months, I'm happy to ride this wave with folks while it lasts.

It's not Balatro related, but if it's any consolation, I thought twitch was muting my game audio because of music (well it was happening in Balatro as well) in my VODs, and I didn't realize that by default OBS uses track 2 for sound if you break your audio into different tracks and not the same track you use for streaming.... and uh, I did a rhythm game stream recently where the VOD has no music lol

I fixed the setting now, but it was a good stream and the VOD is useless without the music 😛

Alright, time to finally share my video I've been working on for a while. My in depth tips and tricks video that is aimed at newer players, specifically ones struggling to beat the black deck where I teach you how to play better, and show you how to beat the black deck using only common jokers.

It's kind of... Balatro the movie given the length so anyone looking for a short tips and tricks well, that's not this, but that's because the game has so many little systems and details to look out for, I just couldn't contain all the info to a short video so I wrapped it around a playtrough. My usual playthroughs last 30 minutes, 40 tops, this video is just shy of 90 minutes, so yeah it's absolutely loaded with information.
