As far as I’m aware, the reason why key cards are even real is that Samsung, who made carts for switch and now switch 2, refuse to make high speed carts with less memory than 64gb, and each one is $17 so not a lot of publishers are willing to spend this much for physical version
Key cards are kind of a compromise made for publishers who still want to occupy shelf space but don’t want to spend so much money on physical carts
