as for the best hand to go for. there really isn't a "best" hand. typically you should try and take what the game gives you. but the better ones would be Pair, Straight, and sometimes high card (pair is just a more consistent high card when it comes to scoring)

Abandoned starts with all face cards removed, meaning that it's easier to draw specific cards/hands,

Ghost allows for most spectrals to spawn in the shop queue, and you also start with Hex, allowing you to make a joker polychrome for free.

Zodiac starts with 3 vouchers, Overstock (+1 shop slot), Tarot Tycoon (Tarots spawn more frequently in the shop), and Planet Tycoon (Planets spawn more frequently in the shop)
