Focus on a strong hand and grab jokers that synergize with it. For pair I’d take jokers that work off discards, played hands, etc. then just get a few planet cards for chips and you’re good. Consistent levels can come from blue seals and burnt joker.

But ultimately, you shouldn’t be trying to force a small hand build unless you happen to find the jokers to make it work.

If you do find the jokers, its easy to shift into pair/high card mode
