first of all, you get at least 3 options for planet and tarot, more if its a bigger pack. the odds of getting at least one useful card is very high. as for jokers, if your slots aren't full, you can break even or sometimes profit by just selling the joker. plus if its early game and you have basically nothing, there are few bad jokers, you need everything you can get. i can see red card being viable when you are rich and late into the game, no longer worried about needing every pack to survive, however by that point, it would be difficult to scale because packs are limited. remember how controversial pre-nerf orange stake was? not having packs sucks. it's even worse with red card because you have to pay for the pack anyway, even though you're not getting any reward from it.

i mean a lot of your arguments make sense, i know red card can be good and i'll try more red card builds in the future, i just personally usually don't take it unless its early game and i need any joker i can get. i probably wouldn't take a flash card until my econ was ready, but it can be good midgame to lategame. maybe im just biased because i don't like making compromises and having to think about which packs to take, when i prefer to "have my cake and eat it too" which flash card lets you do. in a good build you will be taking both packs and rerolling at least once per shop anyway, if you can't afford to reroll, then don't take flash card. im probably gonna go soon but thanks for the insight, i will try to take red card more in the future.
