Would be a craftable gear reduction system using the normal and giant (kind of) cog. Would be nice for a compact and visually interesting gear system.

Fair enough, I could just use those and build one, though this would be more visually interesting lol

You are fully correct though, didn’t think o that

I’ll take a look later but I still think it would be nice for DnD.

So after looking at it, that isn’t a genuine planetary gear set.
The purpose of a planetary is to change the speed between the output and input. The one in Destiny is actually just a large cog that rotates the opposite way on the shaft.

I’m thinking having the actual ring gear stationary, that way your output is slowed if input is going into the sun gear, and output is sped up if your input is going to the planet gears.

#

Again not to over flow the thread here with an idea that isn’t even implemented, the whole premise is a simple 2:1 (or even 3+:1) gear reduction, so you don’t have to stack a bunch of cogs at the start of create to do speed increases off of something like a water wheel, or gearing down a steam engine to a slower speed with higher torque. Like a midway step to a speed controller.

if its the large cog input
it outputs the both shaft the same speed but opposite direction

That just makes a ton of sense, kick ass
