I'll just write out the recommended to get the hardware side out of the way:
GPU should be in the x16 slot in the middle of the board under the cpu socket
if you have an m.2 nvme drive it should be in m2a_cpu slot just above that GPU slot
Ram 1 should be in A2, Ram 2 should be in B2, 3 ram will cause issues
CPU fan should be plugged into the CPU header above the ram slots; if it's an AIO it should be plugged into fan 5 pump on the right side of the board

for software side you should also check that your ram is running at the correct frequency/speed using something like hardwareinfo. if it's not, then there some settings you would need to change in the BIOS

the x16 and m2a slots have direct access to the CPU. the other ports run through the b660 shipset on the motherboard, which would add a minute amount of latency, but would increase IRQ with the cpu (adds wait time)

no matter, XTU basically interfaces with the motherboard BIOS to report the CPU/ram settings while already booted. You can get to those settings through the BIOS. My suggestion is setting BIOS to default settings, let it boot, restart, go back into BIOS and setup the memory profile again.

basically nuke everything that was changed with XTU and give it a whirl, see if it's better

I don't really remember it being too much of a bios issue, Steve from GN did some investigating and the CPUs also had hardware level problems (something to do with vias I think ?)

it's been a hot minute since I watched that, but I believe you're correct... now that I think about it more it might not have been a BIOS update and it might have been a chip microcode update that should have been pushed through windows updates

I dont really want to mess with the bios cuz I changed some settings that took me ages to figure out xd something to even play valorant with vanguard

alr be back in a few, doing this troubleshooting showed me that my memory profile imploded at some point and I've been running at 2200mhz for a while

settings > monitoring > toggle either one temperature sensor, either all > once you toggled one of them, click show in on screen display

once you did that, still in settings, go to the on screen display tab, set a keybind to toggle it (mine's set at ctrl shift i, it doesnt conflict with the amd driver software or anything, but idk about nvidia)

also, msi afterburner will be useful to you IF your gpu is whats overheating

because you can then undervolt it which will make a noticeable temp difference

the way i found my sens was by trying two sensitivities from both ends of the spectrum(one high and one low) in a game like valorant and picked the more comfortable and then decreased or increased until i found a comfortable one ( or if you want to short cut try the aimlabs sensitivity finder and just stick with the one it gives you)
