Probably because Forza is more mainstream with a multi-trillion dollar company behind it (Microsoft). And it's crazy because those LMGC Forza comps were tiny prize pools compared to the Le Mans Esports Series, the ForzaRC, and the CGS competitions way back when. Daveyskills and Picaso both won over $60,000 from the FM2 CGS 2008 competition, which to date, has remained the most amount of money any one player has been awarded from a single Forza comp. Those days are long gone, though. It's only the most pinnacle iRacing competitions I hear of that have those kinds of prize pools.

That's true, but LMU also has an active and competitive esports community, which inflates those numbers. I'd imagine only a small number of those viewers are casual spectators.

Forza, on the other hand, has way more casual appeal, so theoretically, dumping tons of money into Forza comps was justifiable since the viewership would likely outweigh the cost. In reality, that didn't end up happening. As it turns out, 99% or casual Forza players/viewers couldn't care less about the ForzaRC, LMGC, etc. It's actually quite shocking how small the Forza competitive community is considering how massive the player base is overall.

Definitely. However, I also see how it was easy to justify pouring tons of money into FM, even though there wasn't an audience to support it. I'm sure the people at the top who made those decisions saw the success of Forza Horizon and assumed that would translate over to FM, when in reality, that couldn't be further from what happened.

The average casual FH player couldn't care less about esports, while sim-racing enthusiasts couldn't care less about FM because of chase cam/controller combo. It put FM in a barren middle ground where neither the enthusiasts nor the casuals cared about it, but the people at the top who made those decisions to dump all that money into FM weren't involved in the community themselves to know this.

From watching your clip an example is after the first large straight (can't remember names today), you brake too early, you will be suprised how late you can brake there.

You can brake later (around the 100m) at the bus stop too

That is the leaderboard though regardless of if theyve signed up or not. The game doesnt know if youve registered. Thats for the admins to sort out at the end. Just assume everyone is registered for practicality.

My fastest lap time is 2:21.788 and I KNOW it can go faster even in the fixed setup. Its USER error. Fine tuning corners. Getting the PERFECT entry and PERFECT exit on each corner all in one lap. No slip ups. Its hard. But Noone is cheating dude. Chill out

I went into the contest KNOWING there was no way I was gonna be fast enough to make it anywhere near the top and getting any sort of the rewards. But 2 seconds off top 100 isnt bad. Just keep practicing and try harder. Put more laps in. Put more hours in than the other guy.

its that way in any esports sim event tho. the pros who are the fastest will be the ones that go thru. Even when this event was in forza, it was always the same guys event after event. Thats why you see the same names in the iRacing events. if you have that pace, you are already known

hopefully they can tweak the event with maybe different playlists or event type in game to facilitate this type of thing in the future. Until then, its kind of subjec to what is available

How many of them are in full motion sim rigs? How many are on vr? You cant find those last few seconds this qualifier. Try harder on the next track. Start practicing now

Theres a track with qualifiers every 2 weeks for over 2 months. You can learn and find the pace in that time if you lock in and only drive the Mclaren.

It'll be boring, yes, but you have time to get to a competitive pace

I can see not doing teams because that makes prizes difficult to figure out unless they do all cash prizes which probably makes sense anyway. There are a lot of options. The Logitech guys that run these are usually pretty open to feedback so never say never
