Hard to say because I know what 60 vs 120 looks like. I bring my xbox up to the living room TV to play madden and forget to switch it back from 4k60 to 2k120. Boot up Marvel Rivals and can't aim for a match because it's so choppy. 60fps bothers my eyes on this OLED. You don't notice it on the 65" but it's night and day on my monitor.

That's what's bothering me here, I don't take anyone's word for anything and it definitely looks and feels like 120. Multiplayer is distinctly worse FPS than rivals. So it would make sense if it drops from 120 to 60. But based on what you guys are saying it's running at 60 and dropping to 30? I feel like 30fps would be scary bad and obvious.

Weird I notice no difference between rivals and multiplayer but it does sometimes drop to 30fps in endurance races which is horrible

One thing I will say is that playing in 120hz at 60fps does feel smoother than 60hz 60fps cause the frames update faster

Might gain a little since that carries down the hill

I tap ebrake right before cresting the inside curb, kind of like how people were doing it on the sunset kinks.

I definitely need to do that downshift tech more though, I'm losing time all over the place lol

This car is actually hard to drive especially after the 3rd turn where the car hops and jumps on corners before the 4th. And then I somehow get either understeer or oversteer randomly on the 2nd last turn.

Most people use the braking line as a brake reference but thats about it. The suggested line isnt the ideal line. Its more so a good suggestion for people who dont know better.

Rules document says cosmetic only which prevents you from choosing tyres before the race, no? Last event was run like that and it did not work. It was supposed to be mediums and 100% fuel but some people loaded in with softs or less fuel

Damage isnt on but they have fuel and tires since cosmetic is glitched. Even if you have cosmetic on you can change fuel and tire in practice. Its complicated lol

The wheel might work with the virtual os but its hard to say for sure without testing. Thats how I used to play Halo PC on my macbook pro in college.

Theyre just tapping ebrake but most of the technique revolves around feeling the weight of the car and setting it up right. Takes a lot more practice than just tapping the button to do it and even then its rng.

Usually people just adjust the in-game dead zones to make sure they get 100%. I run them at 0-100 because I have a fancy razer controller and the app handles it. But most people running normal xbox controllers have something like 0-95 or 5-85 for dead zones.

I have a PXN wheel. And all buttons are either on or off. Top guys are engaging 10-30% handbrake - how is that possible with a button. If they’re using equipment not available to all it shouldn’t count.

Na we're just tapping the button, most times they use it the replay doesn't even pick it up.

There's a lot more to making it work than just hitting the button. Weight transfer, momentum, shift cadence, throttle control, etc. All factor in to making it click. You have to just practice the technique for a while. It's going to seem like complete RNG for a bit until you start getting a feel.

Best thing to do is watch top replays and see where and how they're using it. If you copy what they're doing you'll start to see it.

Don't get caught up on the pressure, it's a quick tap. If you hold it for any extent you're probably spinning.

To answer your question I use the left bumper for e-brake and "A" for clutch. I've done it like that since FM4 so I can shift and clutch at the same time with my right thumb. This game you don't hit clutch with a race trans so it's not needed. But in the past it made manual with clutch so easy, basically manual.

no. settings aside the part of the rules they always ahve that prizes cant be substituted, the reason some places are inelgible has to do with difficulty/cost of sending items of value to them. a gift card is still an item of value

What input device you're on is irrelevant. Most top forza drivers use controller but a few have competed on wheel as well. Both styles are just as fast but generally everyone uses controller.

T10 also said the game was built from the ground up when the majority was copy and pasted from FM7. In truth the Devs wanted Forza to be great, but between the creative direction Chris Esaki (creative director) took (car rpg), red tape from Microsoft, and the majority of their team being a rotating door of temp contractors. The game never had a chance. Plus Microsoft kept stealing what little top talent T10 had to rebuild Halo Infinite since that launch went so poorly. I blame Microsoft more than anything, they mismanaged the studio and the IP.

T10 and PGG are both working together on fh6, which I Think is a great thing for the future of horizon, motorsport has a great physics model which they could implement into FH6 and with PGG being such a talented studio themselves I can really see them working hand in hand together

T10 did mention in their post that the game wasn’t fully being stopped, just while fh6 is in the works they’ll be shifting focus to that

I highly doubt it. FM'23 was the reboot of the series and it failed. They're not going to do a second reboot, or at least not for a very long time. If by some miracle we do get another Motorsport game someday, it probably won't release until sometime in the 2030s.

I just hope with Turn 10 helping develop Horizon 6, we'll see competitive features from Motorsport that have never before been in Horizon. Improved split sectors, time attack replays, homologated leaderboards, etc.

I also hope they resolve the rampant cheater issue. It's pointless to do Horizon Rivals when half the times in the top 100 on any given leaderboard are cheated. I admittedly haven't played Horizon 5 since 2023, so maybe PG has resolved the cheater plague, but it was atrocious the last time I played.

That's all we're doing though, tapping the button at the right time. Have to be good on the sticks to do stuff like that though. Looks easy when done right, the hard part is setting it up and knowing when to do it.

Ya I run A for clutch and LB for handbrake too, been doing it since FM4. There used to be a "swap handbrake and clutch" option in settings but now you just map it.

Ya definitely, but for the same reason drifters use it to adjust their drift angle you use it to save a mistake. It's not just for initiation. Usually if they're too far inside they'll pop it a couple times to go wider and not hit the curb.

Is it just me or does this car for Fujimi Kaido slide around like crazy? And does anyone have any tips to get faster in this car

Yeah it slides like crazy for sure. The power it puts out gives it a ton of wheel spin and taking turns too fast will absolutely kill all traction. Its hard to say whats best to keep traction but I used traction control and got like a 7:47 time, you just have to be really smooth with turning and dont accelerate all at once.

I am very sus of that 7:21. His csr is not sliding as much as 2nd place or the others on aggresive turns, it seems like he has better traction overall. But hey, I could be wrong and I hope I am. Maybe im just too old and skill is just not there. Could it be that he has Normal steering instead of sim ? Normal steering usually slides less, better stability etc, but less turn in. Who knows. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Practice lobby settings are basically 10 lap races, 50% rubbering, dynamic rubber on. Fuel and tire are softs / 5%. Cosmetic damage. Noon, Clear weather. Settings are in the rules but thats how I run it. 🍻

My understanding is that the admins are sharing stock tunes. Last season some drivers had tunes applied but a bug in the game allowed them to race, even though it was supposed to be stock cars only

Long story short, the admins' tune should feel/handle exactly the same as the stock car, so as long as it's applied and the game says it's applied you should be good

Correct it's a locked tune and you shouldn't be able to change anything. As Bowkett pointed out we can only change fuel and tires so softs and 5%. Softs have the most grip and there's no fuel being consumed on cosmetic damage so we use 5% fuel to make the car as light as possible.

Here are the leaderboards for the three qualifying rounds. Times should be similar to those once the track rubbers in. Rivals is 100% rubber, race will be 50% rubber with dynamic rubbering. So the track will be slower to start but everyone's fastest laps should be pretty close to their leaderboard times once it rubbers in.

Roughly 1:08's on grand oak, ~1:20's on sunset, ~1:23's on maple. Rivals have 1:07's, 1:19's, and 1:22's

I did a few test streams, internet is the priority though. If I do stream you'd likely see the middle-back of the pack (and no mic).

I actually got it four years ago as a prebuilt. I added more RAM and storage as I started to learn more about PC's (had very little idea about building at the time).

Was looking up the specs for a minute, seems like the gpu was designed to push 1080p. Might be why it struggles with 1440 on some games. Same reason I went with the 5080 over the 5070ti. I wanted 4k gaming and the 5070ti was designed for 1440p. Didn't have enough cores to keep up with 4k. Guessing the 6600XT is limited in a similar way for 1440p.
