It's really just the middle of the track. From the hairpin (t6) to turn 12 I always throw. On my best laps I'm right with bowkett into the hairpin and then I just choke.

t6-t12 is definitely the most technical part of the track so no surprise. I'm losing a couple tenths on the banking too. My best final split is like 18.896 but there's probably an 18.6 in it. Hard enough to hit 18's let alone 18.6/18.7 🥲

In short you need top 5 or top 6 in your leaderboard region (out of eligible drivers who havent already qualified) to make it to finals. Once youre in finals you race for cash prizes etc.

So, there are three qualifiers for each region (four regions: North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle east & Asia). Each qualifier round you need to position in the top 5 on the leaderboard (top 6 in North America) to get through to the finals. In the second and third round, the players from round one and two that have already qualified do not count. E.g. My current position in the second qualifier round in APAC is P9, however four drivers in front of me including one behind have already qualified (not actually official yet though, just by looking at the first rounds leaderboard). So this means I'm in P5, so if I don't get knocked further down, I qualify. The round's last just over 1 month and the second round is ending in 18hrs, once it has ended the third and final round will start immediently afterwards.

and they dont even specify in those rules what places get prizes or what the prizes are. "Participants who perform fast laps may have a chance to win hoodies, hats, backpacks, t-shirts, stickers, discounts, could be expanded to Logitech G gear, products, product bundles, gift cards, etc. For example, the fastest Participant of the weekend at a given event could win a free Logitech G923 racing wheel."

What exactly do you think the difference is? IRacing graphics and physics are better? IRacing hired better designers than Turn10? I’ve done both - the difference is marginal at best. This isn’t 2009, which is why Logitechg and E-Racing sponsor events on Forza Motorsports nowadays.

It's obvious which iRacing is more realistic but it doesn't mean that play global tournament on FM is easy, probably an iRacing driver wouldn't qualify cause the phyisics and cars are a way different. I think racing its somethink like that, i mean, you don't drive in the same way a go kart or a f4, you have to improve and adapt your way to drive to the way the vehicle works. The important thing is to enjoy every game and don't misprize other people work. (Sorry about my english i do what i can 🤣)

There's nothing stopping you from competing besides possibly age or country eligibility. Controller is just as fast if not faster than wheel on forza.

I've made semi finals or better in every forza LMGC so far and I play on controller (like the majority). We've just been competing for years and understand how to extract the time. Even the people who have wheels usually play forza on controller.

So dont get discouraged because you dont have a wheel. Focus on improving technique and studying leaderboard replays. Little by little you'll improve.

Ive tryed the first qualifying on wheel cause i couldnt get the hang of the controller and one thing ive noticed is your faster if your able to steer the car using the pedals. Most sim racing videos ive watched reccomend upgrading pedals before a wheel base so ultimately it comes down to skill. From what ive seen in here majority if not all of the top guys are on controller. I put in a few thousand laps for the 1st qualifying using the g pro wheel and loadcell pedals and i couldnt get no where near those guys so once again it comes down to skill.

Don't give up, keep trying. I also found that and lowered my time by 1 second, but since then I've been stuck. It's really hard to find milliseconds and even harder to get them so accurate. May God help me in the next season, which will be Fujimi Kaido, 8 minutes of zig-zags that need to be perfect, haha.

I’m not trying to be aggressive. Your initial question asked if you were missing a trick. To be honest, I haven’t driven the combo so I wouldn’t know for this rival, but you also stated you’re missing 3-4 seconds, and that pace gap suggests there’s a lot of things missing. Best suggestion I think anyone can give without doing hand holding is to look at the top replays and try to mimic their inputs

One thing about the combo is that it is an unnatural one in the sense that you have to use a lot of handbraking to get rotation with the car

You need to create slip angles to get the car to rotate whether it be using hand braking or weight transfer with braking and throttle.

You can also short shift the gears to grip/power out of out of the turns and turn in better

Another trick you can try is that for some corners you can downshift into a turn for about half a second or so for rotation and then shift back into the gear you were originally in

But yea normal short shifting is useful to get the extra grip on exits and whatnot

Looks like an average of 57 messages to unlock based on the XP leaderboard. You gain XP for doing well in events too. So if you make finals you'd likely automatically get it.

I had an RX 6600 non-XT for a while. It was a pretty good card for the six(ish) months I used it for. Unfortunately, I bought it during the height of the GPU shortage and grossly overpaid ($490 after taxes). Luckily, I was able to sell my old card (RX 590) for $300, which I profited $105 from as I bought it initially for $195. So, I effectively paid $385 for my 6600. That's still absurd, but that's just how the market was at the time. I later sold it for $125, so I lost $260 on that card. Oh well.

Now I'm using an RX 7800 XT, and it's been awesome. I've had it for two years now and it's never let me down. However, I have another system with an RX 6700 in it that's starting to show its age, so at some point, I plan on replacing the 7800 XT in my main PC with a 9070 XT then taking my 7800 XT and putting it in my other PC to replace the 6700.

There might be some CPU bottlenecking, but I don't think it would hold it back too much. When I built my current PC in 2022, I was debating between the 5600 and i5-12400 but ultimately went with the 12400 since it was like $110 cheaper at the time. I don't use it anymore, though.

I have since upgraded my PC to a 13700K. It's been rock solid. All the doom and gloom people spread about 13th/14th Intel CPUs is massively overstated in my opinion. As long as you use a good motherboard with the latest BIOS revisions and don't aggressively overclock, they work perfectly fine. And I can attest to that as I have a 13700K in my main system and an i5-14600 in my HTPC. Neither of them have given me any issues.

Anyway, you'd definitely want to upgrade your PSU! I personally use a 750W PSU in my 13700K/7800 XT system and I'm basically utilizing every last ounce of wattage in the unit. I have basically no headroom. It's been stable, but it's right at the limit which isn't ideal.

Part of the reason I've been holding off on buying a 9070 XT is because not only would I be spending $650 - $700 for the card itself, but I'd be spending another $100+ for a PSU upgrade as well.

Thanks for the advice! To a point it may be a good idea just to build a new PC at some point lol. Like for my current PC, I'd upgrade the PSU, I need more storage and a GPU. And at some stage a CPU too (MSFS is quite CPU heavy and struggling a bit). Luckily I upgraded my RAM before the shortage lol.

Yeah, that's understandable. I got lucky with a memory upgrade as well. My HTPC initially had 16gb. I bought another 16gb set in June to increase its total capacity to 32gb. I paid like $28 after taxes and shipping. That same set today is selling for over $100 on Newegg, which is absurd. That's what DDR4 cost when it first hit the market in 2014! I have 64gb of DDR4 in my main PC. I might as well have blocks of gold for RAM. 😅

I think APAC (ANZ) is more a participation issue, I saw this on a Forza Leaderboards Championships for FH5 World Cup where there was like 14 regions (ANZ was one of them). We had a pretty decent time in the top 5 (for the people that participated) but we lacked enough participation (we needed Top 10) times that gets averaged to work out who would proceed to the next stages.

We got knocked out in the first round due to lack of participation ( I think we had 15 participants so 6 joined but didnt post a single time which hindered us to go forward ).

Between the qualifying Rival and all the independent practice I do leading up to the Grand Final, I put in around 80 - 100 hours, if not more.

I'll usually do 2 hours a day every day starting three to four weeks before the Grand Final hits, so that alone is 40 to 60ish hours. Then I'll usually do about 10 hours of laps per week over the course of the month or so the Rival qualifier is up, which adds another 40.

Yup! I spent basically my whole 2016 summer vacation going into my sophomore year doing nothing but grinding ForzaRC Season #1 Rivals. The prize for winning S1 was a 2016 Ford Focus RS, and with me being a few months away from turning 16 at the time, I wanted that car more than anything in the world. I was humbled pretty quickly when I was close to 10 seconds off Laige's time. It was a Ford Mustang around Monza. That was the first Rival I "sweated," and I was terrible. I was about as bottom of the barrel as you could get. 😅

But, me being an unemployed 15-year-old at the time, it's not like I had anything better to do, so I spent that whole summer vacation sweating FM6. I started the summer being about 8 to 10 seconds off pace, then I got down to around 3 to 4 seconds off by the end of that summer. I stayed around that range until 2018, then it's like a switch flipped and I was finally able to get within 2 seconds. It just continued to snowball from there. I got along with FM7's physics much better than FM6, so that helped.

After 4 days of tirelessly trying to beat my time and failing, I followed some advice from the community: using a clutched gear (it's not necessary to use the clutch), removing traction control for better acceleration and remove stability control to take corners more freely. I managed to lower my time by 0.2 seconds, finishing 46th in the Americas, and 126th worldwide. But none of this is enough yet.

Regarding the race day times, I'd like to ask the organizers for help. During the 30 days of race day at the El Dorado shopping mall in Brazil, they wouldn't let us race with soft tires. The configuration was supposed to be with soft tires. I mean, I set the best time on medium tires, but another guy did it on soft tires, kind of "cheating." And I wasn't the only one who raced there. On the last day, it was me, the last Logitech champion in LATAM, and the second-to-last Logitech champion in LATAM. We all had very close times. We tried to explain to the organizers that it didn't make sense to be 1 second behind the closest competitor, but the organizers didn't listen. Since we've already tried everything to resolve this, I'm sending this as an appeal.

Ebrake is def faster if you work it right, it just messes people up instead of helping 90% of the time. Ebrake laps are almost RNG if it catches right. "Almost" because you can do it pretty consistently, you just have to have it down to a science.

I know you gain a tenth or two just never heard anyone say it affected ebrake. I still dont think its correct to say engine brake > ebraking on console. Its situational which you use at any moment. Theyre both important techniques and you'll never hit peak pace without either.

But it doesn't affect engine braking or the handbrake. The issue is that on the PC the car has better traction, so consequently if I use the handbrake I'll need good traction, and if I don't have that much traction it becomes much more unpredictable than on the PC. The handbrake in this car and on the console is only efficient if you're at high RPM and accelerating, which you can only do in T1 or T0, where in T0 I prefer to downshift and upshift while accelerating.
