We're talking about tuning rather than upgrades. The physics themselves are pretty broken. The game isn't complete trash, lap times are similar to other sims. But once you start abusing the tuning menus, the cars get grip they shouldn't and plow over curbs like it's a parking lot. Then there's the weird FFB on wheel. The game was designed around controller and from what we can see, seems like the wheel is restricted by the same parameters they put on controller. You can adapt but it doesn't feel natural.

The sad part is they could fix it but Microsoft axed most of T10 and put the remaining people on Horizon. There wont be any more updates for FM so we're stuck with what we have.

@edgy current Agreed , AC is a good game only thing I dont like about iRacing is to much understeer and there is nothing you can do to fix it , at least that has been my experience . I do like being able to modify my cars paint them use my own designs and tune them , features Forza offers that others don't ,,, last GT game I played was GT sport and it sucked big time so I swore off consoles and went PC

I started racing without racing line and got decent casual pace then I got somewhat fast. But in my short time with SSR I was told to race with the line on.. And I did for a bit but it was super distracting for me and a lot harder to race with the sudden change. All the lines had been just memorized and I kinda just gained the sense of braking even in cars I didn't know. I feel like it gave me somewhat of an advantage when it came to being off the racing line and making moves esp on the outside. But in the end there really is no advantage between fast players who use the line and those who don't. after 200+ laps it's just skill that determines who's faster anyways C:

I mostly use it as a tool for learning new tracks I have no familiarity with then turning it off once I get a rythm, which is pretty useful with the obscure selections iracing likes to throw in rotation, but overall I totally agree, using it or not, fast is fast and in a race, as long as the people using it are also not running others off the road trying to stick to it, theres no issue

there may be a little leeway with gear prizing thru the giveaways since its more feasible to get parental consent for that (and no international travel) but you dont need a fast time for that. just registering, setting a lap, and being from an eligible country are the only other requirements for those

Na, you just need better throttle control. Only cars I like using traction are power builds. With like 1000+hp and no tires. Usually the car just needs a better tune.

It's a 1000hp car, you have to roll into it or give it partial throtte. You cant just stomp it and hope.

Just keep following fast ghosts and learn how to keep pace with it one corner at a time. Eventually you'll learn where the time is.

Helps not using tcs so you can rotate the car on throttle in 3rd gear. Helps get a little more slip angle before shifting 4th.

It's easy to do a burnout if youre not careful, but thats the skill gap of the car in general.

There's some decent times with TCS fsho, it'd screw me up but I can see why people use it. Abs is always more of a preference.

It's still surprising TCS and ABS is allowed. Doesn't really make sense to allow it when the Grand Final is everything forced off. It's also strange because the ForzaRC Rivals were always everything forced off and no line. I guess the positive thing is that allowing assets makes the Rival more accessible, but it's still a bit strange since the GF is everything forced off.

Nope, not even racing line. Only thing they give you is normal steering. Lobby settings for finals are in the rules doc.

They do allow manual as well but that'd be dumb because it's the same as manual with clutch just slower.

I got better at sending each sector. Just have to break it down to science so you know how to link it together.

If you have a really good start for ex it changes the brake point in the next corner. So you have to figure out how to drive at full send speed.

as far as I know, most of the stock tunes in forza are understeery because its easier to drive for inexperienced players that way. One of the more familiar guys can correct me or add additional details if Im not correct in that. But, thats kind of why you need to run with no TC and aggresivly engine brake, those along with trail braking are what are going to let you get more rotation out of the car

He's improved the lap 4 or 5 times, it's still not perfect. I can see another tenth atleast following it. There's also other people within a 20th.

Ive been doing competitive gaming across multiple titles for 20+ years. It'll surprise you what people are capable of at the top. The farther you climb the wider the gap gets. Skill gap distribution is a bell curve.

He's also provided proof that he's legit. The kicker is you get a little boost from higher fps and he plays on 60hz. Crazy part is he could go faster. 💀

It's weird like if I set someone with a 2 second better time as my rival it counts but if it's someone with a time within the same second it doesn't count

If you're rewinding on skip laps it glitches out and dirties. You can only rewind T1 after completing a lap.

When the lap is dirty there's a little triangle symbol next to the current lap time. If you cross the starting line and it's dirty from the last lap there'll be a yellow notification on the top right of the screen that says "Inhereted". If you see that just skip lap or finish your dirty lap so you can rewind T1 without dirtying.

In general you can dirty the lap as long as it's before the last sector / last corner. If you hit the wall right before the start / finish line it'll be dirty. But if you bump the wall coming onto the banking, it'll be clean once you cross the line.

Nailing the braking points and the deceleration on the entry is always my tip. You get them right and it sets itself up for a perfect exit if you stay on the line, once you feel that grip on the exit put your foot down!

Question for everyone though. You using a wheel or controller? And which did you find is faster/nicer to use?

Study telemetry of the top replays and learn the lines / brake points / gears they're using. There's an ideal way to drive the car around the track. The key is learning what that is and then replicating it.

I use a wheel as my preference. Forza's FFB is not great however I still find the game perfectly drivable (I have played proper sims too e.g. ACC, LMU). Although Forza's FFB is pretty bad compared to proper sims, it is mainly designed for controller anyway. However I much prefer wheel as I find it a lot more fun than controller (also I don't even own a controller). I can be fast on wheel too. I qualified for the Summer season earlier this year using a wheel.

Ok thanks man. I haven't used a wheel since probably gran turismo 3 back in the day 🤣 thinking of getting one. I'm trying to shift over to playing with all assists off. Feel like the traction and braking would be nicer to control on a wheel.

Getting the braking right into the hairpin sets up the whole section. If you don't get the hairpin right you'll be a couple few tenths slower through the sector.

I've tried both 5th gear ebrake and also downshifting into 4th when you start to turn left into the kink then going up to 5th as soon as you get on throttle on the exit of that corner.

Both work but I found with the line I take that downshifting to 4th was slightly quicker for me and I'd usually pull back time against others

To add to what Awz said: it's out of the people who havent already qualified in round 1. Round 1 results aren't final yet so its hard to say.

I was 12th in the americas last I checked which is roughly 4th or 5th NA. The Americas board is shared by NA amd LATAM so you have to do some research to figure it out. Leaderboard from round 1 is on the forza site. Just google forza leaderboards.

Depending on what region youre from you likely need a 1:20.xxx or better. EU and LATAM likely need a low 1:20 to qualify.

You can do it for practice but anything that dirties the lap invalidates it. Helps to turn on track limits so you know how wide you can go without dirtying the lap as well.

Side note I prefer the triangle track markers, you can use those or the ribbons. You can also set it up so only the track limits youre approaching appear. Really helps in night races too, especially when you lose your headlights.

All of us have been in LMGC Grand Finals in the past, so it's pretty safe to say none of us cheated. They still have to verify just to make sure, though, which is why it's been taking a bit for the official results to be posted.

Razer products are built well atleast. I've had mine for ~a year and haven't had any issues yet. Still plays like it did on day one. A lot better than the Elite v2's that suck out of the box.

I've always stuck with standard Xbox controllers, so I can't say anything about Razer controllers, but I haven't had a great experience with Razer mice. I bought a Razer Basilisk mouse in September 2023, and initially, it worked great.

However, after about six months of ownership, the integrated battery degraded so much to the point where I could only get like 5 - 6 hours of use out of it before it needed charging, whereas it would last for like 12 or more hours when it was new. And with that mouse, you can't use it when it's charging, so it was a huge inconvenience. It was pretty disappointing considering it cost me $99.99.

Then, what ultimately drove me to throw it out was the scroll wheel failing and middle button presses no longer registering. It was such a headache. I replaced it with a Logitech G502X a few months ago. It's been a million times better. Not to mention the infinite scroll wheel, which is exclusive to Logitech mice. It's super handy.

I've had my Razer Death Adder Elite for like 12 years and it's still working great. I'm not a big PC gamer but it gets plenty of use. Wouldn't be surprised if some of their more recent stuff was made more cheaply. I've been a Razer guy since they were advertising their mice on Starcraft 1 lol

It's like Microsoft purposely uses crappy sticks so people have to keep spending $$$ buying new controllers. Like I've mentioned earlier in this thread, I'm now on my 6th controller. With each one costing about $50.00, that's like $300.00 worth of controllers since 2016, which is crazy.

Thankfully, my most recent controller has been far more reliable than my previous ones. Also, I've somehow never experienced stick drift with any of my controllers. It's always been some other issue like intermittent connectivity issues, buttons not registering, the rumble motors weakening, or the sticks losing tension. But never stick drift.

Sweats wear out controllers faster from consistent use. Combined with needing them to be 100% functional, we replace them a lot. Forza isnt bad for controllers but other games destroy them.

Diablo 3 you spam RB a lot and Id burn out my RB in a month on my elite v2. Either replace it or map a paddle to be my RB.

The actual button on the board would wear out and fail. Cheap as hell.

Halo 2 I used to replace them every couple months. Sticks would get loose and have big deadzones. Luckily in H3 I had an equipment sponsor who'd buy me a new controller every two months and astro a40's every six.

Tbf most of my halo 2 controllers were smashed into a hundred pieces because Id rage in competitive FFA.

I had the same issue with the right trigger sticking in my OG XB1 controller. Inside the housing of the triggers, there are little black pads at the bottom that dampen the sound the triggers make when you engage them. Well, one of those pads somehow turned over on itself, so the sticky bottom was coming in contact with the trigger and causing it to stick. Once I flipped the pad to the correct side again, the sticking went away.

FYI, Grand oak was the round 1 combo and we're on round 2. You also have to set a time on the featured rivals event, not in free play. Bright side is you'll get more grip in rivals.

You need manual with clutch to hit the time, not going to get close with automatic. With manual and clutch (with a race transmission) you just shift and dont press clutch. Drive like it's manual. 👍

Id get the 923 since its newer and has better feedback, also improved pedals.

They just announced the rs50 direct drive setup a couple months ago so that would be the new wheel. Its a solid mid tier 8nm DD setup that's better than most other options in the category. Like the moza r3 and r5.

The Pro wheel is still their best option at 11nm though.

Ive played on a g923 at a friends house a couple years ago. It drove fine for an entry level wheel. I was roughly .5 slower than my pb on controller, but he had an office chair on wheels so his setup wasn't ideal.

The other option in that price range is the moza r3 package. If you get that make sure you get the xbox version (assuming youre on xbox.)

The moza has better FFB quality since its direct drive, but the g923 comes with a clutch pedal and they offer an h-shifter option for $60. Moza you'd need different pedals and a third part shifter to do the same thing.

G923 is a solid wheel to have fun with though without breaking the bank.

At the end of the day the wheel you get doesnt limit how fast you can go. That's all dependent on the driver.

Which wheel you choose depends more on how much immersion you want, price point, and the supporting ecosystem of products.

If you watch f1r devvo he's got a 19.9 or 19.8 without handbrake. Its possible you just have to shift like a mad man and engine brake instead of hand brake. 21.1 is a fast time though so I feel you. Its tough when you hit a wall, but it makes it feel so much better when you finally break through. 💪

I did some research online. They had events in October which is when he set the time in Pune. That's what the practice video was for. He's also not a Logitech employee but seems to be a partner or sponsored affiliate. They've sent him wheels and t-shirts to give out. The wording in the rules say no employees of Logitech can participate but doesn't say anything about sponsored gamers.

When you asked originally I wasn't sure of the settings for the India events since they're late additions. Also the 1:31 time posted in here would have been slow for Grand Oak National (full circuit) so I was a little thrown off. After seeing the times in the low 50's it's obviously Club like the other events.

Again though, being sponsored by logitech is not the same thing as working for logitech. So I doubt he'll be removed completely, although the slower duplicate time should be.

There's driver recruitment channels in Forza Verse and in the league discords (TORA, Racing Haven, etc). LMP has a solid farm team as well.

To get on a top team you need experience and pace. Generally people getting picked up by those teams are known commodities or up and comers they've acknowledged.

There are several. Like Zach mentioned, if you join the ForzaVerse Discord, there's a channel for team recruitment. Even for more "entry-level" teams, you generally have to have at least some track record. No one wants to just let any random person on their team because by doing that, they put themselves at risk of accepting someone who just wants to ram and cause grief in public lobbies resulting in the team's reputation getting tarnished.

To build a track record, you do this by participating in time trials as well as racing in community leagues from the likes of TORA (The Online Racing Association). Teams like PTG (Pendulum Tuning Garage), LMP Esports, and FTC Racing are a few that are pretty open to newcomers. Good luck!

I've been eagerly checking each day. I know I qualified #1 in North America as I took a screenshot of the leaderboard 30 minutes before it closed, but I want to actually see it officialized. This is the first and probably only time I'll finish with the #1 spot. This server needs better ways as soon as possible to keep bots from joining, this is becoming unbearable and considering there are minors on here, they are more liable to fall for scams.
I received a friend request from user romarigns_34520 display Roma rigns ID 1431692074914283613 and this bot attempted to scam/hack me. I’ve taken the appropriate measures, however, it is a fact that this server is flooded with bots.
Please, for the safety of everyone, especially those that don’t spot scammers/hackers right away, make it so the server has more complex ways to access it and chat, this is a serious cybersecurity issue.

I can tell you I've tried flagging them when they post on here and are blatantly obviously bots. Some of them are hard to say with 100% certainty which is kind of the threshold we as the community admins need to operate. Stuff like this is a problem on every social platform so at a certain point, it's down to making sure users are educated enough to know how to report it which discord could do better with. Your post does help in filling that gap tho so thanks for posting it

Yeah, I only DM'd this one because it really did seem to be a person that simply didn't read my bio and this server is the only one we have in common, but after a few messages, they finally sent me the scam one and I knew immediately. And sadly yeah, it's a problem everywhere online and I also always report to Discord whenever I see them on here. With genAI this issue grew immensely in my opinion, never saw so many scam/hacker bots before it.

I get a few of those a week, trust me I feel your pain. The worst is when they impersonate a content creator. Luckily most streamers and content creators have community discords. For a while I'd look up the actual discord user name for whatever streamer they pretended to be. After ~5 false positives in a row I stopped checking. They're all bots or scams.

Not much we can do about the DM's because it's outside the scope of this discord. We're always trying to come up with ideas to combat the bots. For example that's the main reason the "community mods" role was invented. We haven't found a perfect solution yet but feel free to make suggestions if you guys think of anything.

Common scams I've seen here are: Mr.Beast giveaway scam, another similar scam where they post images trying to get you to give personal information for made up rewards, drop shipping scam, vague offers to make a bunch of money per week, and PS5 giveaways.
