It was hinted at the end of yesterday's stream there could be another season, but who knows at this point. I really hope there is. These Logitech competitions are the main reason I play the game. Without it, there isn't much incentive to get on since public multiplayer is largely dead and Rivals is a waste of time thanks to people using broken and exploited tunes.

Just people using a lot of bump damping, games glitches out and gives extra grip or something. I just tune it until it turns right.

I know it well I just don't think it's a big deal. People either don't like how the cars drive with high bump, or don't know how to tune like that so they complain. Especially since most of the stock settings on cars are already in the "bump" realm.

It’s already been talked to nauseam and I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, but I do think the key things is that 1) bump tunes were explicitly banned from being used by T10 afaik and 2) it’s because they broke the game engine, it went beyond just max/min a slider

There's a lot of stock tunes with 5-8 bump. Since stock tunes are bumped, it's hard for me to wrap my head around T10 banning stock tunes. We understand what's going on enough to not abuse it, but the overall feeling towards it seems more like paranoia than justified fear.

Once they reach glitch levels they're not easy to drive. It's really only an problem for rivals, they'd be terrible for endurance racing. Rivals tunes are always one lap all stars anyways.

There is also supposedly an actual glitch that goes along with the settings, but I've only heard of it.

I still have to test the grip levels myself. The "evidence" posted in TORA chat with people doing donuts on the infield of daytona didn't really say much.

It would be smart for T10 to unlock the Mclaren GT car for future LMGC's. The majority of people who would buy DLC have already done so. It would drive up event participation for Logitech, and it might even help revive the game somewhat.

I imagine all these people warming up in rivals would want to test their skills in GT hoppers. Definitely couldn't hurt to try.

Good ol' Chris Esaki and his famous last words — "Built from the ground up." Leading up to the game's release, he made it sound as though it would be the greatest Forza ever knowing full well that it was a buggy, incomplete mess. He then disappeared off all social media to avoid the backlash when people found out it wasn't the game he claimed it to be.

I still can't wrap my head around how it was in development for as long as it was and released in the state it was in. FM4 only had two years of development and was light-years ahead. It's of course not all bad, though, as the driving physics in FM'23 I do believe are the best feeling of all the FMs. I went back to FM7 not too long ago and everything feels like it's on ice in comparison. It's intolerable now. However, FM7 isn't plagued with nearly as many weird bugs and glitches as FM'23, which overall makes it the better of the two.

FM'23 was marketed as being the final FM which would get continuous support and updates throughout the years similar to iRacing, but with Turn 10 being half what they used to be, I think any hope of this being true is very unlikely or barely hanging on.

its more than that. the game filters steering input based on speed. its a mechanic used to make it playable on controllers but it doesnt turn off when using a wheel. at speed you are limited to about 45 degrees of steering input, but at low speeds more range opens up

They use the idea of slowing the car down to slow the car down not actual friction

From my past few laps, its gonna be a game of getting the car to rotate with just throttle and brake inputs not steering, which is harder than just steering while full throttle pressing the ebrake like last time lol

The physics in FM are generally pretty understeery, but it feels like the understeer dial was turned up to 100 for pretty much every single McLaren featured in the G Challenge. The M8B is the only one that actually turns without having to yank the handbrake through nearly every corner.

Yup. It's thankfully only happened to me once. It was the last season in the first Rival qualifier at Spa. I loaded into the track and it was like the car had bricks for tires. The car aggressively bounced down the straights and would yeet itself off into a barrier any attempt I made to turn. I closed the game and restarted my whole computer, which luckily resolved the issue.

but generally rwd cars with a lot of understeer really require you to be locked in with trail braking

But you still cannot justify terrible car handling when even F1 has not only better settings optimisation to improve your control and feel of the car but also better telemetry data settings as you can use external software for the game to find out where your the worst and best at. What forza motorsports dose is chuck everything out the window and give you a car that dose not even want to steer.

I've raced in GT3 with some people before and it wasn't bad. I have a torn rotator cuff (I see doc in a week or so) for confirmation. But its left arm so I don't have a ton of strength and it gets aggravated easily. But we do aspire to race there full at some point. Just gotta work up to it. Rivals is our happy place. I've set a few top 10's in the lower classes.

Going through each track (nearly) and setting times on them and revisiting them since some times are old. We started in E while simultaneously doing D and B, and we are up to Catalunya. Its exciting to see the improvement.

I don't think handbrake is too crucial for this one - it definitely helps with first and last corner but that only probably gains around 1 or 2 tenths. I think a 1.07 can be done without handbrake, it is not like last season where the F1 car needed it almost every corner

Watching someone’s replay always helps, understanding lines and gears, when to downshift when to upshift, what gear to enter the corner what gear to exit then try to replicate it into your own driving style

I feel your pain. I spent 4 hours running laps on Saturday evening and didn't improve even one time that whole session. I kept getting so close, but I couldn't keep it together through the end of the lap to save my life. I came back to it Sunday morning, and finally got an 8.1. The end of my lap was still a bit sloppy, but it's still an 8.1, so I'll take it.

Not tryna start a war, just a curiosity question, are most of the top guys using a wheel or controller. I'd imagine with manual driving you're using a wheel but if you're changing gears on controller then fair play

if youre just looking to qualify, you can still be fast with wheel

changing gears on controller isnt hard, most cars use dogbox gearboxes so the clutch is only used at the start of the race, or to recover from a wreck

Controller uses a joystick, so you can input steering FAR faster than a wheel can

giving it an advantage on tracks with a lot of tight turns, however wheel gives the advantage of controlling break pressure, steering angle, and throttle more finely.

Id say its down to personal prefrence, but the input filters that exist for controllers just move faster than a human can with a wheel

but for some reason bowkett doesnt apply to the whole "wheel is slower thing" hes just as fast with both somehow

They wheel rims they are doing are better than the previous ones tho. Specifically the giveaway rim is one of the nicest ones Logitech offers at the moment and it wrapped in suede.

Yea, I assumed they'd give away the new wheel base once it got announced. Then once that got changed, there was no real reason to put the stronger seat in. The new stuff is obviously not as high end but it's a better kit for people playing on console that are more likely to need things that can be put away a bit easier

The grand prize gets all the mclaren stuff including the seat and headset, the giveaways get the challenge seat and the momo wheel and an Astro a20x instead of the a50x they did previously

It switches every other season. So far, we've gotten two LMGC events a year since the release of FM'23.

We'll get one at the beginning of the year which features the big $100K prize pool, then we'll get another one in the summer with the smaller $50K prize pool.

Compared to last year's $100K competition, the cash prize for the top spot has been reduced from $3,000 down to $2,000. It's been restructured so the guys lower down the field get a bigger portion of the pie. That sucks for the guys in the top 5, but it's awesome for the guys in the mid to lower pack like myself.

You can participate in the competition however you cannot win anything from the sweepstakes. The sweepstakes are a random draw from posting a lap on the rivals events.

if your country is not listed as eligible, you are not able to qualify for the finals or win prizes. There is nothing stopping you from playing the activity in game tho. You can also use whatever wheel you like, most people use controller on forza tho

Correct, if its not a listed country you can run laps on the board but wont be eligible to qualify. It's determined by logitech's legal team.
