ok... its going to cost you some tom for the game and all the expansions. graphics are okay to be honest. its not bad but compared to forza motorsport it has a long way to go. give LMU about 2 years to do all the bug fixes ect and it will be a good game. The only free version is the mustang side.. personally i love FORZA motorsport too much

the game cannot handle steering limits. There is almost zero resistnace to the end of steering input in a car and handles that situation by just throwing the rear end of the car out

its free but you need to own the game to use/claim it. It is a paid title that has a set of content included with it and additional paid content alongside it so to use the free mustang gt3 car you would need to own the base game

You can show up late if you need but missing an entire race would make it very difficult to advance, since your final score combines point totals from all three races.

Tell me about it! That M23 is terrible. No amount of tuning eliminates the need to handbrake. I got close with one of my early setups, but it came at the cost of sliding more and not gripping as fast. I can't eradicate the need to handbrake without compromising the car's grip, which in turn makes me slower. I've finally created a setup that feels acceptable to drive, but it didn't come without hours of headache and previously failed attempts.

I found it to be the worst with the M23, but the other two were also quite bad. I also find it annoying that the physics of the cars seemingly change between Rivals, Freeplay practice, and multiplayer lobbies. It makes it really hard to practice. I made it through, though, so it worked out in the end. Although, that Silverstone race was an absolute catastrophe. I went in to the qualifying session and completely forgot to change my tires and fuel load. Immediately shot myself in the foot. I won't be making that mistake twice. 😅

Pain. I can definitely relate! My monitor died during a TORA race several years ago, but the good news for me was that it was an ordinary community league rather than a big money comp like the LMGC. Spend all that time practicing just to lose out over something as dumb as my monitor dying mid-race. I'd be absolutely livid.

That's partly due to rubbering. Rivals is 100% rubber whereas these races were 50% rubber. Having said that, I still find cars drive differently between Rivals at 100% rubber vs multiplayer at 100% rubber. It also doesn't help that I live in middle-of-nowhere northern Arizona, so I have to put up with immense server lag.

as for the accelerator, you can always put longer settings on the trigger, like 2% low limit, 98% high limit

You can also adjust your car’s brake tuning by changing the brake pressure and brake balance to a good setting and to your liking, helps with the feel and also you can probably stop faster

It’s for tuning the car, not the controller. Learn to tune, it’s actually so rewarding and can make you a lot better

Depends on how you stream. If you're streaming and gaming on PC you need to get your encoding settings set right so the game doesn't lag and stream doesn't drop frames. If you're streaming off xbox you can add overlays with apps. I play on xbox and stream on PC using an elgato 4k pro. I like elgato products in general but their capture cards have crap firmware and support. If you buy a capture card I recommend Avermedia. I've had both.

Max streaming bitrate is 6000 on twitch so most people use that. Bitrate will help the quality, but to get a really clean stream you need a nice capture card with crazy encoding settings. I use streamlabs to stream but OBS should be roughly the same and uses less memory.

Encoding settings: If you have a new Nvidia card you can run the Nvenc (new) codec and save CPU load. If you're like me and game on xbox and only stream on PC, the x264 (cpu) encoder will look better. Key is finding the right setting, run it as high as you can before the CPU can't keep up. I usually open task manager and try to keep the CPU between 50-70% load.

Anything higher and you'll drop frames when it spikes or something runs in the background.

AFAIK the visual lines up with the actual rubber. Had one practice lobby where we purposefully set it to 100 but all of us were slower than 50 and the track had no marks on it at all. Reloaded the track and it was over a second faster with tons of marks. Did alright, overall where I was thinking albeit some people were more interested in the diving Olympics instead of actual racing

No tuning does however completely level the playing field as some people (me) have no knowledge or desire to learn to tune so rely on tunes from others. Is LMGC a tuning comp or a racing comp at its core?

In my opinion there is no more level playing field than everyone driving the same car. If the car is horrible for you it's going to be horrible for the majority of drivers. For me tuning is just such a time sink as a lot of it comes down to trial and error - what should improve the tune often does not on Forza. Not to mention that someone who isn't on a team will likely be tuning the cars on their own, whereas teams will likely share tunes between it's members. 8 people working on 3 tunes is much easier than one person working on 3 tunes for example. Regardless, tuning or no tuning, we will still compete

Top few percent isnt hard with a half decent clean lap. It gets exponentially harder the higher you climb though.

Might be obvious, but I didn’t realize for say the first 100hours. Definitely helped myself out by going to the leaderboard and seeing what car the top guys are running.

For most tracks, S class and up there will be a meta car. Sometimes a couple within the top leaderboards which can be part of the thrill to try and move a car up the leaderboard.

Then depending on personal gear shift, abs, stability settings; sift through and download a tune. Play around and give this a go for like 24 game hours. 🔮

Tweaking advanced controller settings can also be helpful but I’d say to only go for that after you get the hang of it or someone helps you with it (imo it depends on which car you’re driving so needless to say that oftentimes settings that work for one car doesn’t for another and you’d have to configure accordingly)

Forza is very easy to learn, but getting to the top 0.01% is an immense undertaking. There's a reason only a few players can challenge Bowkett. Mitch and ForceOne are the only players currently on Bowkett's level, imo. So, yes, the top 1 - 3% isn't too difficult, but from that point onward it becomes monumentally more challenging. Robotic laser-precise inputs to match the very best that only a tiny minority of players can achieve.

I agree with this, 8 year old me was very slow when I started 5 years and 11 months ago, I wanted to be the fastest player in FM but even tho I knew it was going to be hard I didn't know it was going to be very very very hard to become the fastest in Forza. Even now, on raw pace and not just rivals (which is where I am the fastest on), I can be around 3 seconds off Bowkett even tho I have improved from March last year by around a second.

It depends on the car. I'll switch between 15-85, 5-95, 10-90, and 0-100. Most of the time, though, I find 5-95 to be pretty good. My problem with 0-100 is that in a lot of cars, it feels like it takes too long to reach full lock or will stop right before full lock.

Anyway, I was in a similar position when I started at 15. It blew my mind seeing Laige top the leaderboards while I struggled to get within 5.0 seconds in a lot of instances. It took me about a year before I could get within 2.0 seconds of the best players, then a year after that before I could get within 1.5 seconds, and another year after that before I could get with a second of the best players.

I reached my peak in summer 2021, and I've been at about the same level pace-wise since then. I'm glad I haven't gotten slower (especially since I don't play nearly as much now), but it's also frustrating that I've been stuck for almost four years. I'm more consistent and race better under pressure now, but my raw pace hasn't changed that much. I feel like I've reached my glass ceiling and lack the inherent talent to break through.

Not all of us! TPR Picaso is in his 40s and was in his 20s when he got into competitive Forza. Still to this day one of the best players out there, but he doesn't play all that much anymore.

Most of us got into it during our teens, though, since that's typically when people have the most free time. Wake up, go to school, come home, and sweat Forza leaderboards all evening. Simpler times. 😌

I'm very fortunate in that I work a job that gives me three days off every week, so while I have more days off than I did when I was a teenager as I went to school five days a week, I still have less time now as it's being filled with more obligations outside of school/work I didn't have as a teenager. Thankfully, I'm always able to find some time for Forza, though. I put in somewhere between 5 and 10 hours a week nowadays. When I was sweating the hardest, I would do 8 - 10 hours a day. 😅

Anyway, being in a team definitely helps! Not only will you have access to team member who might help with tunes, but you'll also be a part of a group of players who you can regularly race with and learn off each other. Unfortunately, the team I'm a part of (DOR) isn't as active anymore, and while I've had offers to join "better" teams, I've been a part of DOR for over five years now, so leaving after that long isn't something I can just do. I've also really gotten to know the DOR guys, which is why it's important to be a part of a team that's not just about raw pace but also with a group of players you get along with.

The rules are in #1304143955079725168, I recommend reading them to get ready for the next event. You seem to have decent pace so you might actually make it through.

There's usually three qualifying rounds and you need to make top 10 in your region (out of eligible drivers) to qualify. People who qualified in earlier rounds don't count towards the later rounds, you can only qualify once.

There's also Race Day events at local stores you can qualify at, they have their own semi finals and top four move on to finals. We didn't have any race days in NA for this event though, but the other regions did.

It's a UI glitch. I'm running the stock setup. If you buy a car and put a tune on it outside of Rivals, then go into a Rivals event that uses said car but forces stock tuning, the car will be forced to stock but it'll still show on the leaderboard that you're using a tune. It's one of those weird Forza oddities the developers haven't cared enough to fix.

Engine braking also! In Forza, it's generally faster to rapidly downshift and let the engine do the braking rather than doing smooth downshifts. There are some situations where this isn't applicable, but more often than not engine braking is the way to go. Obviously, if simulation damage is forced, don't do this as you'll destroy your car. 😅

Engine braking shortens brake distance and helps rotate the car off throttle so you can throttle out sooner. Usually you want to downshift as hard as you can without locking up tires.

Unless sim damage is on then you have to worry about blowing up the motor more lol

The first half of my lap wasn't very great, but I pulled it together in the second half. The first few corners are where I struggle the most. If I could get better in the first half of the lap, a 1:51.9xx is definitely doable, but this car is tortious to drive. I'm calling it quits with my 52.124.

I know I can go faster, but now that the weekend is over, I don't have the time after work to grind out a 51. I'm still pretty happy with my time, though. No kidding, the tendon in my right index finger pops in and out of place every time I bend it due to years and years of controller hand strain. Fortunately, it sounds worse than it actually is. Most people use braking line to set their rivals time though. You only need to practice without braking line if you make it through. Unless you want to practice for fun, because it is good practice to learn the actual track braking points.

I didn't — QuintenJeh did. My best was a 51.979. This event has concluded, so it doesn't really matter anymore, but hand-braking was the main trick. Through each corner, you lightly tap the left bumper on your XB controller, and doing this gives the car extra rotation and allows you to get on the gas faster. It's incredibly annoying and I hate everything about it, but in this car, it was a necessity.

The next thing was engine-braking. Rather than smoothly downshifting through each corner, the trick was to absolutely hammer the downshift button (X) as fast as possible, and this allows the car to stop faster. Obviously, with simulation damage enabled, doing this will destroy your engine, but this Rival was cosmetic damage only, so you could engine brake and not destroy the car in the process.

It was brutal! I started running laps last night at 7:40 PM, and it was 11:45 PM by the time I crossed the line with that 1:51. I was determined to get it!

I ended the session with the timer at almost the 4-hour mark, which is by far the longest session I've done in FM'23. Whenever the LMGC Grand Finals conclude, I always get a huge rush of motivation to relentlessly sweat the game for the following two to three weeks. 😅

for forza, most of the fast guys use controller, personally I wouldnt recommend a wheel for forza itself but there other games that would benefit from it depending on platform. What wheel you should look into depends a lot of what you are looking to spend and if you are on pc or console (and which console)

I use a wheel (Moza R3 on PC.) Although generally it is slower than Controller I find it way more fun to play. I upgraded from a Logitech G920 (great starter wheel) and it was a massive improvement. Really depends on your play style. The Moza R3 is a great wheel. Just beware on PC it is a bit complicated to set up, (all Moza wheels for Forza Motorsport are) you can go to Moza's Discord server to get settings to make it feel good.

On the other hand, if you're old enough to work and earn the average monthly income in India (₹20,039), then several months of saving should be able to get you a TM T128, which is currently ₹29,999 on Amazon India. Begging on Discord is not going to do anything but annoy people and land yourself with a ban.

Also, as Zach mentioned, you don't need a wheel to be competitive in Forza. 99% of the best players in Forza use controllers. As with anything, you've gotta put in the time to practice to get good. Good luck! 😁

doesnt it have a USB plug on it? you dont need an adapter, just plug the USB into the PC. You may need to download GHub tho

As long as it's not Le Mans, Nordschleife, or Spa, I won't have an issue. Those three tracks have always been some of my worst.

I think Road America full, Road Atlanta full, and VIR full would be a good set of tracks this time around. All these tracks have a good mix of long straights, sweeping corners, as well as precise technical bits. They would offer a good challenge while also not being absolutely nightmarish — like that of Le Mans, Nordschleife, and Spa. I hate those tracks. 😅

I can tolerate Spa, but I find Le Mans and Nordschleife unbearable. They take sooo long to lap and it just feels like a chore to me. Practicing those tracks take forever because of how long they are. I would also be open to Hockenheim, Brands Hatch, and Mid-Ohio.

There should be an Xbox option there with the hub you have. That's what's causing the issue. You need to talk to someone in support to either get it fixed or a replacement sent out

You could also connect it to a pc with ghub and see if there are any firmware updates that fix the issue
