Not even going to watch it, it's obvious at that point. Theorized peak pace originally was a 42.9ish and they've gotten it down to a .8. There's maybe a tenth at most left in the lap. So beating it by 20 seconds is 100% cheating, don't even have to look.

I'd put up a $1000 bet it's cheated, that's how obvious it is.

the G920/923 are the most popular starter wheels. When trying to decide if you want to get into it further or even enjoy it, its always best to spend as little as possible to try it

immersion will always be better on a wheel, yea. For games, more serious games like AC, ACC, LMU, iRacing etc are going to be better/faster on a wheel but forza is the exception where it will almost always be faster to use a controller

you can be fast on a wheel in forza it is just not very common

yo @edgy current heared you are quite an experieced guy with forza, fancy sharing some tunes for the upcoming race days finals races or at least some tips/meta settings to the tunes, i've literally played this game like from 10h and i dont know anything 😭

As far as meta stuff, 9.8/9.8 roll center helps a lot. 100/0 on the diff for most of these. Something like -1.5/-1.1 0/0 7.0 for alignment. Stock setups are really neutral so you have to change a lot to make it turn.

The M23 for example has a 34%/66% weight distribution but the springs are like 300/323 stock. First thing I did was raise the rear to 550 to get it to turn and balance the loads better. Rear kept wanting to wash out.

Generally speaking you want a stiff chassis and softer suspension. So high roll bars and roll centers and softer bump and springs. Not too soft though because these are race cars. Softer will give you more grip but take longer to set the corner, stiffer setups will be more responsive but act skiddish and slide on braking.

You're trying to find the goldilocks where the car grips and turns. Max mechanical grip, using telemetry helps a lot too. When you're new you want to make big adjustments to one thing at a time so that you can grasp how it's affecting the car. If you change too much at once or make too small of an adjustment you probably wont notice the difference.

Also stock rebound always sucks, you can pretty much add 2.0 front and rear to whatever the stock numbers are without fail.

I had initially given up on tuning and just used a tune from the marketplace, but I ended being basically forced to go back and create something of my own since none of the tunes off the marketplace could handle the curbs without sending the car to Narnia. After a countless amount of previously failed attempts, I've finally managed to create a setup that doesn't feel totally horrible to drive. It's still not perfect, but in the M23, it never will be. No matter what I do, I can never eradicate the need to handbrake through almost every corner. I've just accepted it at this point. 😅

That's how it should be, but alas. I absolutely hate spending hours fiddling with tuning settings until I stumble across those magical sets of numbers. You're at a huge disadvantage in the races if you show up with a stock setup when everyone else is running tunes, so tuning is a necessity and I hate how time-consuming it is. Creating a tune for general public lobbies is one thing, but creating a tune that's somewhat competitive in a high-stakes competition like the LMGC takes absolutely forever.

So far I haven't made the m23 faster than stock without ebrake tricks. Partially because I forget the lap and partially because understeer cars like ebrake so making it turn kind of kills the trick. I have to play with how much I can make it turn and still ebrake, or get it to drive that hard without ebrake.

I posted some basic stuff in an essay if you scroll up, also ESV Griffin has a decent youtube video he made recently.

M23 on cat is the first combo in semi's, from the first qualifying round. MP4 is round 2.

In the rivals event everything was stock, so those times were with the stock car.

M23 you need to ebrake almost every corner, MP4 there's only a handful you need to ebrake. P1 was no ebrake, for me.

P1's more about managing tire temps across the lap. If you cook them braking/engine braking you'll have to ease up on a couple corners or risk over driving. Thing will want to spin on exit.

In short I still have to figure out the tuning myself. I'm usually qualified by round 2 which gives me an extra month tuning. Didn't make it until round 3 this time so I'm behind schedule.

What is this whole ebrake thing even about? Like how does it work? I have only driven yesterday and somehow I find myself in the finals whilst I have no clue what I am doing. As far as I can tell it would almost be easier on controller but I really don’t have a clue.

I tried to do some things with the setup of my own knowledge from other games and stuff but I can’t get faster. I assume it has all to do with exploits then?

Na tuning's just really hard and forza doesn't tune like iRacing / ACC. eBrake is just tapping ebrake on entry to get a little more slip. It's a tough technique be gains time

lets you get on throttle earlier

I play on controller and switch ebrake /clutch buttons. So LB is ebrake and A is clutch for me. When I ebrake it's barely a tap, don't want it to catch too much you'll spin out.

Even then you still have to regulate momentum and throttle to get the right outcome. Just have to practice with it.

Pretty much on use it on cars that understeer and have a lot of rear grip though, not every car needs it.

When do you use it? While braking or while cornering?

When you're done braking, before the throttle point. If you do it too late it's just slower. You're trying to setup the corner to get on throttle earlier.

I rewind the corner a few times so I can see the line. Like see where you want to finish and trace it out in your head. Your line of entry and momentum are really important as well, like setting up a drift.

I get good at ebraking for like a week doing rivals like this then forget because I rarely use it outside of these stock rivals.

It is clutch for saving a corner, like the kink in the middle of daytona24. If you're a little hot you can tap it and save the car from going into the grass etc.

my advice for you guys than won the DD wheel is to expand your horizons on games. Forza is fine on a wheel but can cause frustration since it behaves oddly at times. If you branch out a bit to other titles like Asseto Corsa, ACC etc I think youll have a better time with it

It's more difficult with a controller , it doesn't have much precision for the steering wheel, I haven't made any adjustments to the lever!

LMU is Le Mans Ultimate, its kind of like ACC but has hypercars and LMP cars with mixed class racing. From my experience the cars feel better than ACC but its in early access right now so they are actively developing it
