Would be amazing if barbed shot actually did damage instead of being embarrassing by ticking for a 90 damage crit . Also it needs to be a insta cast skill imo

Yes that could work too but the damage needs a buff for sure not sure why the changed it from 5 second tick to 1 sec tick but then divided the damage by 5 we asked for a buff lol it now actually tends to do less damage than before overall as 1 to 2 crits before they changed it was equivalent to 5 to 10 crits now
Yea, the cast time is extra, the tic rate needs to change
Like I would be happy with a 5 second duration with 3 tics a second
Wouldn’t necessarily need to change the damage, it just allows more than one ranger use it, and makes it more worth casting
Well I mean 1 tic per second is kinda cool makes it unique in a way but the problem is that its weaker now than it was when it was 1 tic per 5 seconds

Eh, shorter duration same amount of tics makes them more competitive for more players, currently it is the same as Druid vines where you lose damage if more than one person casts it
But if the tick rate increases, the damage should not go down
Like my mage does 2.5 to 3.5k per tic on incinerate crits up to 7k lol barbed shot does less than 80 damage per tic that's not even the equivalent of 1 tic of incinerate
Doesn’t sound like you have dg on ranger, my barbed will crit for 250ish on prot
Technically it does though as overall you get less critical tic damage as I maybe get 5 of 25 tics as critical as barbed tics every second for 25 seconds. But when it was tic every 5 seconds over 25 I'd get 1 or 2 critical everytime

Yes, That change was the wrong way to do it. You have to keep the total damage per cast the same, so more tics over 25s means lower damage spread. if you lower the duration and make tics happen faster with the same total damage, the dps is the same over the course of a raid, it’s more bursty than sustained
IMO all dots need that change, makes them usable for more people, I’m not even talking about the damage
I think it could work better as you say make it shorter duration so 15 seconds but keep the tic at 1 second but multiply the damage per tic by 2 or 3 that way it would do more damage than now over a shorter duration and more could use it
Effectively nerfing the duration but buffing the damage won't make it too crazy while still making it more viable
This is true as I've seen with firemages and druids usually 1 being the top in that class at the raid gets priority on tics and is the only person allowed to do it which is abit unfair

Facts, perm a BT lightheal cd ring and 3 gele lightheal rings, but you forgot every ranger needs to have sharpen weapons maxed aswel and camouflage so you can support without getting attacked by random mobs or boss adds
When you actually think about it ranger don't even need a bow you could just perm a musical instrument and achieve the same results
