Yanno, 1000 fertilizer isn’t too bad if you compost wheat flowers! I get like 1200 fertilizers like on the daily when I compost wheat flour and extra flowers. The ones that are like 100 gizmos or 30 rubber balls feel impossible cause that takes DAYSSSSSS!

I don’t think we know what we’re working on now? But in the past, we earned enough points for Sunblink to give us black (and hence grey) flowers; before that, there were only the other colours. And most recently, we earned enough points to make the Floral Fashion Frenzy happen, the recent event that provided clothes we could dye using our flowers.

The black flowers goal was reached in time for Hallowe’en 2025.

It’s worth reading through it. Some of the entries were so creative, and we can post multiple pictures in the submission so sometimes they’re nicely staged.

Usually the deadline is the last day of the month, and the results are revealed the next day. Swampy was busy Friday so we were a bit late for April.

Other threads in this channel are cabin design. Those are also cool.

(There’s no prize for the cabin designs. But again, people are so creative!)

I've only just started my flower journey, but I hope in the future I'll be able to join everyone with a creative submission

It might take a while before you have enough designs of flowers to be able to have submissions that fit the prompts, but sometimes even newish players get lucky and make a flower that does well. It’s always worth checking your inventory (after you have some) when the prompts come out to see if you have something that might work. Otherwise you have to try to breed them, and that can be tricky in only one month.

You don’t have all the patterns until you’ve had flowers for pretty much a full year. For the hot dog bounty, all the winners had stripes. I hadn’t had petunia season yet, so I wasn’t able to make anything striped.

(There were three others that month that I could have worked on.)

There was a butternut squash in October. I devoted my whole greenhouse to trying to get green and yellow alternate eggwort for the whole month (and also my husband’s greenhouse), and I didn’t quite make it. Fred made a similar submission and didn’t even win! Then when you see the winners, you think, “I can see it now, but when I saw the prompt, an alternate eggwort seemed perfect.)

If you enjoy the flower breeding, you can derive enjoyment from this game for a long time. Players are still learning new techniques that work better and that we all start using. Just like real gardening! And sometimes Sunblink gifts us with a new flower and a new effect … whole new excitement there.
