Thank you so much Sunblink for permitting and supporting this discord and the wiki. I was really struggling in the game before I found the Discord; not only did the community massively help with the game, but it’s also connected me with a wonderful group of fun, intelligent, and positive people. Being here makes me happy. Joining others in the search for the new items in the 2.7 Arcade update this week was soooo much fun — way more exciting than it would have been just by myself.

I work with a lot of software in my day job and have begged several of those companies to allow us to have a user group so I could connect with others and share ideas, and many of them just refuse. I am grateful that Sunblink did not take that approach. This community has been a big part of what has made HKIA so fulfilling (and such a huge time suck!) for me this past six months.

I poked around the appdata and saw the game created a backup just before the file was cleared. I can't wait to drop the good news at breakfast.

I am so grateful for this game. Ever since it launched for Switch in January, I have played for an hour or so each morning when I wake up; it’s become an amazing part of my wake up + coffee routine and it’s something I legitimately look forward to every night when I go to sleep lol. I’ve found I go to bed on time more often (because I want to wake up and play) and I have basically completely stopped using social media or my phone first thing, which I think is just making me happier. I lost my mom back in September, so the fact that I have something that makes me excited to start a new day means a lot. I'm actually not Polish (I'm Colombian), nor do I pretend to speak for anyone from that country. But, I still feel like these acts of goodwill should always get a proper shoutout whenever they do happen. Steam prices have been really unfairly set for the Polish Zloty for the last three years, so hearing that the Sunblink team was willing to accommodate for that really brightened what's been otherwise a very grim day for me.

In case the devs, artists, or any of the team at Sunblink reads this, I just wanted to say:

This game was everything I needed at just the right time. I became physically disabled a couple years ago, and went from being an active person to barely being able to leave my couch, let alone my house. At the peak of my disability, I couldn't do anything I enjoyed anymore. I got access to Apple Arcade from a friend, and downloaded this game.

I genuinely don't know and don't even want to think about how much worse things would have been for me if I didn't have this game. It gave me something to do while I sat at home for weeks at a time, but not only that- the storyline of ||The Island Spirit and her relationship with Tophat and Big Challenges|| brought me to tears multiple times and made me feel so seen and less alone. Because of my disability, someone I considered a close friend at the time took it personally that I couldn't be active or do much anymore, so she turned all of our mutual friends against me in a pretty traumatic way. I was feeling so alone and struggling with friendship in general. I pushed everyone away. The game helped me to reconnect with the friends who didn't abandon me and feel more secure in those friendships. I was doing that in real life exactly while I was playing through the || Island Spirit quests and reading the dialogue with The Island Spirit, Tophat, and Big Challenges || in the game.

Not only that, but I had so much fun playing it every day, which was something that was so rare during that time. I have no idea what it's like to work in video games, but in case you mostly think about the average player who is healthy and has many other things in life to comfort them and find joy/fun in...

... there are also people who this game has become a respite for in a very very difficult time.

Things have gotten better since then, but in a time that I shouldn't have had so much fun, I squealed with joy and teared up customizing plushes with My Sweet Piano for the first time, I smiled every time I made a new flower, and enjoying the beautiful, whimsical designs throughout the entire game helped me feel relaxed and gave me the dopamine and happy brain chemicals I needed to enjoy the moment and look forward to something special each day.

I can't thank you all enough for this game and for continuing to update it, so I can keep playing.

Today Small Daughter and I were on our walk to daycare this morning someone pulled over with a flat tire just down from our house. Small Daughter said, "Dad can we help them like we did with Mommy's car?" So we ran back to our house and came back with the tools and I put the spare on for them while Small Daughter played stuffed animals with the little kid in the car. They took off for their daycare and we put the tools away and went on to our own daycare. Only about 10 minutes later than normal. She was very happy with herself. I later heard from my daycare staff today that Small Daughter took the toy cars and the toy tools to a corner of the play room to fix the car. 😂 Maybe I am getting through to that kid after all.

My very healthy 13yo cat rapidly declined Saturday morning within a minute of me leaving him at the ER for what should’ve been monitoring and a simple slow treatment due to a mixup with his medication dosage. He coded soon after i got there and they couldnt get him back. Literally I got into the Uber at 4:53am and they called me by 5:02am telling me to turn around immediately because they were losing him. I waited with him for nine hours to make sure that they got him hooked up to the treatment (and on it for a bit) before I left to just take a shower and eat

I have never dealt with trauma as an adult without him, and I just lost his little brother last year to unexpected sudden death that happened in front of both of us. I’m also struggling with the denial part because I taught myself for over a year to ignore my intrusive thoughts about him being dead (while he was still alive).

I haven’t been able to distract myself with games yet, but I am happy that there is new stuff on the game to distract myself when I am ready, and I’m happy the game is so warm and inviting.

Aw I had a similar experience with my dog in 2022, when our local vet suggested we take our dog off of his heart medication, that was prescribed from the emergency vet when he almost died 🥲 the local vet said we could start weening him off it as his organs looked okay. He passed away a couple days after that. It’s very upsetting, we recently lost our other dog last month. But it gets easier, and it brings comfort to me knowing that they are both reunited again in puppy heaven

I am so thankful for this game. I'm a single mother struggling with health issues with no support network and life has just been too much. I recently got this game and was hesitant with the mixed reviews, but boy have I been having a blast with this game. Lifes been a LOT lately - I've started a new vocational school 4pm-9pm, 2 nights a week, and things there have been rough (they tried to discriminate against me for my autism during admissions, and now im in... theyre so badly orgsnised you'd think it was the first time anyone in that entire global org ever offered night classes, not that this school alone has been doing it for decades orz)

Theres highs to those lows too, of course, but none of them NEARLY as high as getting to come home and spend the rest of the night and the following day hanging out in wheatflour wonderland. Even the fact that I'm a european switch player worked out for me in the end - my school is tuesdays and thursdays, abd my thursday was meh but my tuesday SUCKED, and i needed the warm hug that is this game much more.

I went into wheatflour wonderland consuming as little of the publicity as I could beforehand cos i wanted to experience things for myself. I knew theres a new area called the same thing as the DLC. I knew therea a puffball called Cogimyun that needs our help, but nothing about her personality or story or anything. I think i heard offhandedly somewhere there'd be magic wands, but thats it.

I did not know about the mahou senshi themeing. Not at ALL. It was SUCH a lovely surprise, and im so excited about it! I cant wait to find out who else will be a guardian (translation: on all levels except physical im standing at the stained glass circle desperately yelling PICK ME NEXT PLEAAAAASE at it <.<) and what else there will be to discover!

For things i wear, I'm not much of a frills person, and definitely not a dress person. My avatar has mostly been in tshirts and shorts. but ive been running around in one of the frilly dresses since the second I could.

The flowls are fantastic. Cogimyun & co are lovely. The new stories are engaging and great.

This game had already been a liferaft for me during the troubles I encountered during the application process to the school, and I will be grateful for that alone forever. I didn't think you'd be able to top yourself there, to be honest.

And yet? You did. How lucky i am (and we are) that you've created this wonderful world for us.

I was not expecting that much content and fun for 14,90€. I am used to paying 40€ for DLC coming from other games, and you surpassed any other DLC like a 100 times. I can't believe we get to have this much fun and be this happy thanks to just 1 game, which is not even "expensive" to start with. I just made some progress in WW today and realized that the already big map is even bigger! There is such a big amount of love and care in this DLC! I love how much stuff there is to do, it's not just a quick cash grab this is really a big expansion for the game with many new mechanics and a whole new list of things to do so we don't run out of fun anytime soon.
I'm really grateful for the game it's soooo good and fun, I love how it's kind of a mix between Collectathon x Life Sim x Adventure game, it just feels right. It's the HK game I always dreamed of as a kid.

Honestly if the Devs polish up City Town a bit and add a bit more stuff to it I think they should sell it as paid DLC as well. I want to support the game as much as possible so that it can last us a couple more years <3!

I've hit another (happily) busy spell in life, and I barely have time to log in each day, collect items, do the dailies, and some minimal flower care. My list of quests is huge, and I don't know when I'll be able to get to them, so I'm doing as many as I can of the ones that will expire. I have well over 1200 hours in the game, and I gave up on my switch version a week into it because I didn't have time for it. The point is, this game has given so much beyond my expectations, and I think it's a huge value for the money. I can't imagine ever logging on and having only boring, routine things to do. The whole game has been eye-candy from day one, yet it just keeps getting prettier. There are some things I'm terrible at, or otherwise don't enjoy, and unfortunately, there are rewards tied to them that I would like to have. But that's a personal issue, not a game issue. I think you're all doing an excellent job!

Hi devs and all who helped in making HKIA! I’m a new player and I just wanted to say thank you for this game and the hard work you’ve all done. It’s really been a gift. I’ve been having a hard year with loss in my family and a lot of other sucky stuff. Since I’ve started playing it’s really helped me to have somewhere to escape instead of just doomscrolling! One change I noticed in this update I want to share gratitude for is that the body types for each avatar species is saved separately now when using the mirror. I didn’t want to experiment with other animals because I love my dog self and didn’t want to remember what settings I used if I wanted to try out another. Now I feel like trying the others out some time.

Grateful of the customizable Hugs and Hearts items this year so my fellow queer and Ace friends, as well my partner and I, can also enjoy the game and the event with our faves from cute cast of characters while ignoring very gendered Valentine's Day marketing all around. This includes some of our friends from JP and other parts of Asia who always feel pressured because they are male. Representation is important and the game still is a cozy escape that we all hope for more as time goes on.

I have almost 200 hours in this game now, which probably puts it in my top ten for playtime hours. I typically play shorter titles. I love this game.

As a former pro game developer (now boring Manufacturing Software Girlie), I understand the dedication it takes to get updates out so consistently with tight and hard deadlines. It's heartwarming to me that there's a team of people out there working hard every day to make a game that lets people have calm adventures about friendship.

I want to thank the quest designers and writers for writing to the characters' voices, the new devs just starting who are scared that they aren't doing enough (but will find their groove soon!), the UI developers who delight the concept artists when they make something look just like the Figma picture, that one developer who insists on documenting everything in Confluence, the person who just had to revert a git commit, and whichever dev(s) decided it was their cross to carry to make the Moppu game.

Just wanna thank the existence of this awesome game! My wife got it about a year or two ago and today she's played it so much that she's only 1 achievement away from completion! I played it with her here and there and only recently got fully hooked, now playing almost daily in between my doses of Dark Souls and Fallout games xD This game has awakened our love for Sanrio and we've connected so much as we get to know these characters more and more. I absolutely adore the flower themed outfits this year. I don’t normally try to get all the colors for every outfit, but I decided to go for it with this set. The flower hair clip, the blossom outfit, and the standing flower hat all look great. They all pale in comparison to the flower pot outfit though. It’s just as good as I hoped!

According to the achievements menu, 1 year ago today I started my main save file on HKIA, and I just started reflecting on that a few hours ago.

I went into HKIA pretty cautiously, considering I was a really new Sanrio fan. But I was surprised when I finally got into it. I've always wanted to write a full review piece for HKIA, but for fear of not clogging this channel I never have, and I probably won't. Not in this server at least.

I have no clue how the devs did it, but thank you for keeping the file size of the game nice and small, even with all the updates and DLC. I’m so used to third party Switch and Switch 2 games bloating in size anytime they update the game, let alone add in new content. Just today, a game I have got a performance update that added 60FPS… but took 5GB to do so! Compared to the new update and DLC, which took less than a GB, possibly less than 100MB since the file size didn’t change in my system storage! I just wanted to say that like, this game has made me genuinely care about Sanrio characters. They're all so sweet and fun and lovely, and Hangyodon's arc in the DLC is SO GOOD GENUINELY LIKE. When I first bought this game it was for the cuteness, and 400+ hours later I now love and care for all these characters so much. And THANK YOU for giving us Big Challenges in the modern age!!!!! I just wanted to say I really, really love City Town and think it was a great addition. I play the game everyday, and today I finished the main story so I feel like it added a great amount of content. I still have even more to do with the friendship and cafe levels. All the extra things each character brings also gives a lot of great stuff for the main game overall. I just really love it! I also always love flower stuff being added!

There are many things I could thank you for in this game, it's got me through some awful pain days (today being one of the worst) and kept my mind occupied when I feel like I'm falling apart.

But two main things from the Imagination Cafe that have a big thank you from me: there are no timers on the orders, you can just take your time to get it right, and there's no way to give an incorrect item for each order, it only shows things that fit the brief. I find it so stressful when these elements are included and I was worried I wouldn't enjoy the cafe as much, but there's none of that here and I'm very grateful. An all round thoroughly enjoyable DLC!

So I didn’t know where else to post this, but basically, during the quest “Rainbow Or Bust,” Cinnamoroll wants to explore more of Citytown, but unfortunately it starts to rain, which upsets him, so everyone goes into the imagination cafe and once everyone has had the sweet mochi, Cinnamoroll says

“You think you know what’s going to happen, and then are disappointed or surprised. It can really alter the course of your day”

And as someone who absolutely struggled with change in the past, and still do to this day, I related to this so hard! I hate change, I really do! Even the slightest change can throw me off, so this spoke to me

Pompompurin then says, in typical Pompompurin fashion

”It’s terrible when I don’t get the naps I’d planned”

And Kuromi says, in typical Kuromi fashion

”I like surprising people, not being surprised” and that’s something I totally feel myself!

And one of the reply options was “Changes stress me out too” which is an absolutely accurate description of how I feel about change

Cinnamoroll then says:

”I’m just glad we all still got to spend time together! It’s not the day I planned, but I still get to spend it spend it with my friends! It’s like a rainbow after the rain…. Or during the rain!”

As someone who absolutely despises change as I mentioned, this quest absolutely spoke to me in a way no other quest in this already amazing game does, it connects with me on a very emotional and personal level, and it’s a message I think everyone need in their lives! I’ve already loved this game a lot, but this quest brings it to another level! An incredible message for everyone no matter how old they are, and one that’ll stick with me personally!!

After all, change is inevitable, and we can’t avoid it, so we have to live with it, and this was a perfect example of it

I'll spoil this for City Town content:

||Hangy's arc in City Town regarding getting over his anxiety and impostor syndrome actually has me crying in the club right now. I never really got the appeal of his inclusion in the game at first because I personally had never heard of him. But seeing how he shines when he's in a safe place and gets scared to move venues because it makes him feel like he's not good at the thing that he loves, that hit me so hard man. And him putting on a mask of everything being fine because he realizes that others can sus out his anxiety and low self-esteem? New appreciation for this character unlocked.||

Just want to thank the devs for the City Town Cafe. I like to do all 100 customers whenever I get a chance, even though I've already leveled it all the way up. I just find it so relaxing, soothing, and satisfying. I love getting to see all my visitors hanging out. Also, literally dance with joy whenever Haida comes bc his happy dance is such a vibe.
