The Sunblink devs are so good about implementing ideas from the community. I really appreciate that they listen to our ideas and use them when it’s possible. I don’t often see developers listening so closely to player ideas and feedback. I love how if an idea isn’t possible or has to wait, they explain why. I’ve noticed in just a few months a few player ideas that already made it into the game which is so cool!

I just want to share my appreciation for this game, this game is my happy place, a place where I can turn to and experience joy and friendship not even just on the island with our friends but even on the discord with all my online friends I’ve made and continue to make💜when we first started playing this game it wasn’t that comparable to animal crossing, it had just released and the map you see on the resort is the only map we had, we had basic decor, 3 avatar options, and not very much furniture/visitors but as the game has progressed we have learned to love a whole new world and make friendships that will last a life time! Now I think I could easily say this game has surpassed ac with the amount of thoughtful quest and the 3 new islands we’ve had added! Not even that but now we can run our own cafe!!! That is so exciting!! Chelsea is always LISTENING 👂 to our feedback not just looking and moving on but relaying our wants and needs desires and wishes back to the team and making it happen!!! First off I just wanted to say how grateful I am for the devs/this game/the community/discord/mods/etc. I adore HKIA and have been playing since release, but always on my own (except when the haunted mansion multiplayer quests first came out and someone on here was kind enough to help me with level 1). I recently returned to the game after a hiatus and was feeling kinda lost and a bit overwhelmed with the new content (not a complaint btw - love the updates haha). I am sooo grateful to whichever devs make the sound effects for this game. I noticed some big improvements over the last year, such as the different sounds depending on what substance you’re walking on (the glass in the greenhouse!!!), and they really make a huge difference to my enjoyment of this game. I use headphones to get the best of it and sometimes I will stand in front of a waterfall or the hot springs etc and just…take a nap. It is so soothing. Shoutout to the sound of walking in the sand/grass or the snow on icy peak, rain on the roof inside a cabin, and the various different chests and boxes when they disappear or get smashed. The crickets at nighttime, the frogs in the swamp…I could go on. It may sound silly but I love the sound of walking around so much, it has helped me to be more mindful when I take nature walks in my own city and has helped me to get out more, just to hear the gravel crunching under my own feet. Thank you so much for your contributions to this game. I hope you see this. 💗

I applaud Sunblink for giving the Sanrio characters actual personalities, a major and great change from how Sanrio had treated almost all of their own characters in the previous 48 years (except Retsuko and Fairilu) as glorified plush figures. I just wanted to shout out whoever on the team “writes” the game, both literally writing the dialogue and planning out the story progression. I think the dialogue does such a great job conveying the themes of the game and it’s often very funny too!

I advised two students on game design projects this semester and it was often hard to convince them that the writing is important; they want to think about game mechanics and visuals but I think that’s all secondary to writing something good!

yeah I'm really sad that people are doing that tbh. like the flowers are one of my fave parts of the game and I'm so proud of my progress with them bc I'm starting over from Apple Arcade and doing them without using any traded flowers just to see how long it takes me to get all the base colours in the regional flowers, so it's sad when i see others trying to trade for colours or types I know aren't available yet. Like the joy of flowers is the time and planning and love we put into it 🥺

I've been really stressed lately. I had a bad panic attack yesterday. However, every time that I see my beloved pompompurin, my soul heals. Thank you to all of the kind people who offered me their sympathy regarding my panic attacks. I found a pretty good method to calm myself when I'm at home. I hug a plush and listen to relaxing, nostalgic video game music while taking deep breaths. It really helps.

My parents can probably help me too but during my last attack, they were unable to help because they were taking showers. I'm really glad that I found a method that works when I can't get help from others.

I just wanna say that im super grateful for being here and for this game and for everyone who worked for this to come true, to some people it can be just a simple casual game but for me it really touched me deeply and its really helping me overcome my bad moments and intrusive thoughts and anxiety in a way. With the recent sc4ms happening in this server, I wanted to take a moment and thank a lot of y’all!

Trading fairly, and having fun while doing so is such a beautiful part of this community. I know the development team is sorting out some issues with multiplayer glitches, but even so, I really just think everybody here’s patience with such glitches, and ability to still have fun together, is truly wonderful.

So many of you, I’ve had the pleasure of trading with, and I often find myself smiling at my screen while doing so. It is not often I physically smile (I smile mentally🤣), or laugh, but when I’m trading, or running around with you all, I often do!

Hi. Im on the opposite end. I’m my mom’s only child and it’s just us. I’m 29 and she’s 60. I did not think I’d be in the “taking care of my parent” stage of my life right now. Not in an actual she can’t care for herself type way, but in a the roles are definitely reversed in situations type deal. She works in a school cafeteria and doesn’t want to eat what she has for lunch for dinner. So, when I talk to her on the phone she’ll go “I’m hungry” to which I’ll reply “what do you want?” And she will come back “I don’t know.” Every time. I want to say my thank you to the all the devs and community managers of HKIA. I’m a 32 year old man and this game rules. It’s made me tear up more than a handful of times because of how wholesome it is, haha.

HKIA is one of my top five games :)

Also have to agree with everyone's sentiment. I was never super into the HK world, but my friend suggested it to me a while back and I got it on a steam sale. It's been a blast since. I love the monthly events and how in depth this game is. As someone who's played a lot of Animal Crossing, this by far feels like a much more polished/better version of it in a way. I too love the dialogue and being able to level up friends or visitors to make them stay versus getting luck.

I've been looking for a chill game to keep me sane in this insane world, and this has hit all of the spots. It's cute, I love the quests, collecting things (gudetama has been my favorite) and can't wait to explore more. I started playing this back in late March, so I am still new, but so far it's been a blast.

i came pleasantly surprised this game is so well done, full of love and appreciation for both sanrio and video game fans. growing up i was always apprehensive of licenced video games, and honestly felt hello kitty games would not appeal to me as someone who enjoys stuff more like monster hunter, but this game itches the same itch animal crossing does for me except better. i am glad this game doesnt look down upon me as if i'm a child while still making it accessible for all ages. the humor is great, i get a kick out of the memes and more esoteric references and getting to tell my sweet piano i really do felt was such a great moment!
the pacing is really great too, i love how it has daily activities and events but it doesnt really pressure you to log in every day like animal crossing, and i can always take a break and come back without feeling like my island has gone to the dogs.
one of my favorite parts is that theres actually strategy and movement tech in this game, it makes going around the island, menuing fast, getting items to craft a lot of fun instead of feeling like a chore.
i also really enjoy the fleshing out of the sanrio characters. i never knew they had personalities ngl LOL

also... unlike monster hunter, i am getting a consistent 60 FPS with max settings on my 2070 super 🔥
